The downloads are taking really long to process for customers. Digital downloads are not made immediately available for customers. Customers want their downloads immediately, and this makes it hard for them to want to purchase items from the site.

Great app! But there needs to be a way to limit individual customer downloads. Pleas make this update!!!!!!

Great idea but the execution is lacking. Had to remove the app is it was marking unfulfilled order "fulfilled" after sending eBook, which ended up turning into a nightmare trying to figure out which orders had been fulfilled and not fulfilled with actual products. If the app did not do that this app would be GREAT! Hope this is fixed ASAP!

Hi, there! You'll want to make sure that you've selected the correct fulfillment settings in your Digital Downloads app. Navigate to Apps > Digital Downloads > Dashboard, and click on the name of your digital product. Next, click on the settings icon > Settings, and make sure it's set to manual and not automatic. Won't even open the App dashboard on Safari. I've cleared all cookies etc, nothing. Waste of time.

MAJOR BUG It has one major problem which needs to be corrected to improve the quality. It is not synced with the Shopify Products Admin. When we delete any product from Shopify admin, it doesn't get deleted from the digital download app. Even we cannot delete it manually afterwards. One more major issue is in my case that its showing duplicate attachments in my digital download dashboard. Means it is showing 2 rows for the same product in the Dashboard Page. When I try to delete one the one is still showing. Its very confusing... it must be rectified as its a bug..

I have mixed feelings with this app. It's great that it's free and it does the job (recommended for e-books) you can set download limit to discourage illegal forwarding, BUT the limit what causes the trouble.
I get customer complaints every day that the download button didn't work and because they tried clicking on it many a few times, they exceeded the limit.

They didn't actually download the file but the app thinks they did.
This might be a device issue on their end but it's definitely something the developers should look into.
Setting the limit to unlimited still causes them negative customer experience because after they pay for a product, they get a download button that either works or not.

If this issue gets fixed, I'll give 5 stars immediately!

This app is almost perfect - just one glaring omission. Why can't customers who are logged into their account download their items from their order page? I know it's possible because both Etsy and Craftsy have that feature. I hope this is something in the works for the future. Otherwise everything is fantastic - great interface and very easy to use.

It would be really nice if Shopify had integrated digital downloads in their system because I feel like every app they design just falls to the wayside. I couldn't even get an MP3 file to download properly. Just took me to a new page where you had to Right Click, Save As but I couldn't even save the file correctly. It just wanted to save the audio file as a Browser html file. That was on a desktop, by the way. Can't imagine the headache of a mobile download.

Why bother having these apps at all if no one is maintaining or checking to see if there are incompatibilities?

It works! However, the product page should have shown function details of what file types are available to upload, as well as link to the documentation here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/digital-service-product/digital-downloads You need to create the product as a draft, then find the "Digital Download" button under the More actions menu (next to "Preview"). Then you can publish the product after upload.

That being said, PDFs are most definitely supported, but the file size must be under 5 GB.
