Absolutely dreadful, do not use. It has been generating all kinds of bogus emails to my customers. Very embarrassing.
1. MAY NOT SEND LINK.
2. NO CONFIRMATION PAGE LINK.
Details:
1. May not get link: We have checkout>order updates> enabled for sms OR email. If customers checkout with sms, they will NEVER get an EMAILED download link. We would have to eliminate order updates by sms to require an email be added to the order. We have several customers that rely on text order updates so this is not a viable solution.
2. No confirmation page link: It does not appear AT ALL on the order confirmation page DESPITE being ACTIVE in the Digital Download app settings.
Just wasted my time for over an hour with Shopify help - here is a quote from help:
"I wanted to share with you that the download link is sometimes not appearing on the order confirmation page, which is expected behavior."
No, dude. That IS NOT at all expected behavior.
DO NOT get this app. Shopify is no longer supporting it and this is a quote from a tech support rep: the current app is in maintenance mode, meaning that developers are only investing resources into resolving "critical security fixes or widespread bugs". After using it for four years I can no longer upload files.

no support and all 200 of my products suddenly are not linked... not cool, and NO SUPPORT to help! use an app with better support when you need them!

Soon after I switched to Shopify with all my customers, they stopped the support for the digital downloads app. I had many chats with the customer service, with different feedback. Some said I should look around for an additional app, others said, they appreciate the ...
It just doesn't work. I'm lucky a customer messaged me personally to let me know they weren't receiving their downloads because the app automatically archives orders and claims to have delivered the digital product, even when it hasn't.

I have been using your application since November of last year, and everything has been running smoothly. However, since the latest Shopify update, I have encountered a problem.
When a customer places an order, they no longer see the download link on the page, even though I have it activated in the settings. This issue only started occurring after the recent update.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. By the way, I want to mention that the application is otherwise very, very good.

Doesn't actually send the product when it says it does. Not a good app.
Shocking app, very poor from Shopify considering the high monthly fees we pay. Does not allow you to add branding to the email that sends the download, so it looks like spam and builds a distrust with your customers
