I really wanted to use this app. But I am having to delete it. I'm leaving this review as a warning to others. This app does not have a download link on Thank you page. I contacted support and they said it was a known issue with no date on a fix. They advised me to find another digital downloads app to use. So there you are folks. Best to find another app to use.
The good point is it's using Shopify domain to send emails, which has a good reputation and avoid your download emails to end in the junk.
The other good thing is the fact that your files are hosted on the Shopify server and you have a use limitation per download (5gb).
On the other end, the app needs some necessary improvement : a file manager to avoid duplicates, fix the download on purchase page...
I've used this app for almost ten years, and although it's not perfect, it does the job of sending my customers links to their purchased PDF patterns, and it's free.
I would LOVE it if the files you uploaded were marked with a date!
I would LOVE it if customer email addresses were synchronized with the address they use and updated in Shopify.
Finally, the customers who have canceled a purchase or have received a refund don't get a new link sent if the file is updated.
Finally, a hosted version of the app would be amazing. I wouldn't mind paying for one, so I wouldn't have to manually send people new links to their PDFs.

I have been using your application since November of last year, and everything has been running smoothly. However, since the latest Shopify update, I have encountered a problem.
When a customer places an order, they no longer see the download link on the page, even though I have it activated in the settings. This issue only started occurring after the recent update.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. By the way, I want to mention that the application is otherwise very, very good.

This plugin only supports a single file upload, which is quite limiting and not clearly mentioned in the file management area. Although it seems to allow multiple file uploads initially, attempting to save results in a vague error message without any clear indication of the issue. This can be frustrating and time-consuming, especially when you need to manage multiple files. I hope the developers address this limitation and improve the error messaging for a better user experience.

This app is just barely useable. It takes about 3 minutes to 'prepare' a 20mb PDF, which is completely unacceptable in 2023. In addition, it takes hours to auto-send emails to customers letting them know the file is ready for download.
I'm losing customers because of this, and it seems I'm not alone. Shopify, please address these issues! Everything else with the app is beautiful and seamless.

I love this app, but I just saw it's unsupported now.
I contacted the Shopify Support Team and they told me they won't update it and I should maybe consider other apps... This is sad!

Great app to begin with, but 1 month post install, a critical error is displayed in my admin- "This app may not work as expected. Digital Downloads needs to be updated by the app developer. Contact them for support or uninstall the app."
Please update ASAP as my digital sales are currently paused and customers are unable to receive a file download link.

Es ist ja eine offizielle Shopify-App. Wieso ist es nicht möglich, dieses Mail mit einem Shopify Mail-Template zu versenden?
