would give it zero stars if I could as it cancelled non-fraudulent transactions. Had to quickly uninstall before it cost even more lost business
Not working, i even set rules for all fields, but it doesn't filter the orders I want.
Hi there, thanks for reaching out. There are some restrictions on what the Fraud Filter app can do but it should be working with the parameters and restrictions you've set. Please contact our support team for further assistance and we'd be happy to take a closer look at this: https://shopify.link/vRnL. -Victor, Shopify Support
I don't recommend it. The parameters are extremely limited, I put in some straightforward ones just to try to get it to work at all and those didn't work. Support was not helpful and just gave me a list for better apps that are not free instead of understanding this app enough to help me get an use out of it. You should also have a couple of examples that would commonly be used and actually work with the app.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback here. I would encourage you to contact support again with some concrete examples of orders that met your parameters and still came through. If the parameters aren't working as expected, our support team should be able to help you troubleshoot those or escalate you to a technical specialist.
As well, I can definitely appreciate how helpful it would be to have a help doc of example perameters. I'll be sure to pass that on to our development team as a request. Thank you. - Brie, Shopify Support
If you want to block false abandon checkout cart- this app is USELESS. Not sure if it would work for orders with transactions, but from other reviews it seems not useful at all as well.
It won't allow you to make a requirement for the BILL TO and SHIP TO addresses to be the same. This is key to stopping fraud for us. Credit card owner is never the person fraudulently using the card, and buying and having delivered our products. It is going to a different home address. Therefore making it obvious that two different addresses are needed in defrauding a company of their consumer good. Basic knowledge in fraudulent activity and easy solve for Shopify but they haven't.
Thank you for your review. I can definitely appreciate your need to prevent orders with high risk status. As such, I have shared your feedback with our developers for consideration.
In the meantime I do want to draw your attention to Shopify's built in fraud detection (https://bit.ly/3SAfef3) services. By switching to manual payment captures (https://bit.ly/3ZgomYY) and reviewing each flag you can choose to decline such orders. -Olivia, Shopify Support
I love Shopify and many of its apps. Thank you guys, you are doing a great job. But not this app, unfortunately, not. Let me explain. You say it 'blocks certain customers from checking out', but it doesn't... sorry to say that... The app allows all customers to place order, all customers do receive 'Pament Successfull' message on their screen. And wait for their order to arrive. What this app does is it CANCELS unwelcomed ORDERS immediately after they are placed /or warns you and you cancel them manually/ and sends cancellation emails to the customers. And here is the problem - automatic emails can /and probably will/ get into Spam or Promotions folder and customers might not even suspect their order has been cancelled. I wish this app really did 'block certain customers from placing orders' so they could see 'Unable to place order' or something like that instead of 'Thank you for your order'. Nevertheless, your hard work deserves a Thank you. At least you tried and maybe the app will upgrade one day.
We very much appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us here, and I am sorry to hear that the Fraud Filter app has not proven to be a useful tool for your store. I can see why the problems you've outlined have been a frustration and the feedback and suggestions you have provided will be passed along to our app development team for them to review.
We also appreciate the kind words you've shared here and I'm glad to hear your experience using Shopify has been a positive one. Thanks again for reaching out. -Victor, Shopify Support
It didn't make a lot of sense that they built something where you need to create specific rules for events that you don't know will happen. Had the app for 2 min and quickly removed it. I do not recommend this app.
I also don't review as much unless I feel it is necessary and wish I would have saw this comment before downloading.
Thank you for taking the time to reach out regarding your experience. I'll share your thoughts and feedback with our team directly for further review. Cheers! - Rae, Shopify Support
After install, none of the fields are editable so I'm unable to create a filter or use the app in any way. What gives?
Over complicated and I simply do not understand all the rules and what they mean. I just want something to easily install and let technology do all the hard work.
This is silly. It can't actually block a transaction based on the rules - it only cancels the order after the transaction already occurs. As everyone states in the reviews, that leave us - your merchants - having to cover the transaction fees for/on the reversal. Why can't this simply block the transaction, based on the rule - before the transaction occurs, so that the merchant doesn't incur expenses?
Thank you for getting in touch and for writing your review, and I can appreciate your frustration over the limitations of the Fraud Filter app in terms of preventing high risk or fraudulent orders from being placed at all.
The app will cancel or flag an order if it meets the criteria you've set once the order has been placed, but I can see why you'd prefer a solution that stops the customer from placing an order. I will be sure to pass your feedback onto our app development team for their consideration. -Victor, Shopify Support
