I have uninstalled the app because it wasn't working as expected and ask them through Shopify Support to remove any remaining code on my store but they keep ignoring my messages.

Thank you for removing every snippet code on my store.

Hi there, sorry to hear about this. The Geolocation app does not actually add any code to your store.

It says select your first country and location, I have already selected it but it doesn't work , Poor Service.

IF i could give a -1 star i would. is it just me, or do apps by shopify NEVER EVER work. Every time i download an app by shopify, there always comes an issue, and then we have to end up switching to pay such huge amounts to get the service we want. The capitalist society in which we Live. The Ping app by Shopify is another USELESS app that just freezes my webpage for no reason. Or is this some kind of Big corporation conspiracy???

It took several attempts before I was able to download the app. Once installed I found that it got the pricing U.S. vs Canadian wrong. Not happy with the app I uninstalled it. For some reason, it's still running in the background and all my pricing is now wrong. I can't get rid of it. That's what happens with a free app from Shopify.
Can anyone help??

Hey Joe,

Sorry about the issues you are facing with the Geolocation app. The app is not running on your store anymore. You are seeing wrong prices on your shop because your theme's in-built currency converter is not compatible with multi-currency for Shopify Payments.

I would recommend you to turn off Currency selector in your theme. You can do this by going to Online Store > Themes > Customize > Theme Settings > Currency and then turn currency off there.

You should be then able to add currency selector and GeoIP based recommendation by installing the Geolocation app.

I am currently using the app and i see a huge potential for being able to sell and market internationally. It was a great option for me at this time

I don't know if it's something I am not getting right. I installed the app, then goes to vmy website to give it a try on what customers will experience. Unfortunately when I choose a language, the only thing that changes is the theme language. Contents such as text, product titles etc still stays in English bwhich is my store default language. So I wonder how this app is of help to customers speaking other languages. Is there a way out?

Geolocation app prompts customers to switch to your local language. It is not meant to be used with one of the translation apps that are compatible with Shopify's store languages feature. You can learn more about these apps at https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-online/multilingual-online-store

i changed my browsers default language to french, to test it. Also used a VPN. After clicking to translate, it did nothing. Also the currency dosen't change. I'm using debute theme, it might be limited. I don't know. But now i have to quickly switch back to old methods unfortunatley.
It is a pleasure to see shopify actually develop something for their customers that is useful and free and should've been implemented a long time ago. It's such a simple thing, langue translation and currency change.

Please look into this :)

Hey ANTISOCIALCASE,

The Geolocation app only shows currency recommendations if you are already selling in multiple currencies with Shopify Payments. To display your store's content in another language, you need to enable multiple languages. The Geolocation app doesn't translate your store's content, but instead helps your visitors view the languages you've already translated.

The app is not working as expected, i tried switch locations to test whether it changes/translates the text or but for some strange reason it doesn't and it seems to be using the same currency for different regions.

At the end I uninstalled the app but the locations stills show up after uninstalling the app. what should i do to have it removed

Unfortunately because you are not using Shopify Payments, you can only sell in one currency - this is why your currencies are not changing. The app also does not automatically translate your content for you. For this you should use something like Translate and Adapt: https://apps.shopify.com/translate-and-adapt

The selectors you current have are not coming from the Geolocation app, but another app you have installed called "BUCKS currency converter Pro++"

Hi there, Geolocation leverages the multi currency option within Shopify Payments to recommend different currencies to buyers, and allow them to checkout in those currencies. Unfortunately without Shopify Payments, your buyers can only checkout in your store's base currency. We are expanding its availability as fast as we can!
