This app needs significant improvement. There are better versions available in the Shopify app options.

Not customizable. Didn't work properly for me (and I didn't know I was losing potential customers because it wouldn't convert in their local currencies like expected), I had to chat with Shopify Support for 2 days as they were trying to guess what the issue was. At the end, I was told that it was probably because my store theme was not from the default ones of Shopify, and it wouldn't work with it. Really disappointed to be honest. Lost a lot of time for nothing.
If I have a multilingual site does the default text "Looks like you’re in United States. Change to USD $? Change" automatically translated based on the country.. for example, if it detects Italian would the above text be in italian?
Thanks for the review PowaPod.
In case you have translated your site in to Italian with an app that supports the new Store languages section, then the Geolocation app will automatically display the text in Italin if the visitor's browser is set to Italian.
The pop-up form and the embedded currency selector look nice (the best among every other used app), BUT it is generally useless, as the pop-up do not provide the option to link to the correct webpage. And on top of that - the currency selector allows to change the country, but the prices stay on the same currency, which beats the whole purpose.
Hi there, it definitely sounds like something isn't going right here - the specific purpose of Geolocation is to do exactly what you are saying, so long as you are using Shopify Payments. Please get in touch with us and we'd be happy to help.
The app dosen't show the right currency for Norway. It must be NOK, not SEK.
Hi there, because NOK is a volatile currency, we do not enable it by default. To use NOK for Norway, you can create a dedicated Market for Norway in Settings --> Markets. The app pop up will then recommend NOK: https://help.shopify.com/manual/markets/pricing/volatile-currencies
Doesn't work. Pop up doesn't work, and customisation doesn't work,
Hi there, the pop up only appears if you are visiting your site from a different country. If you are still having issues, please let us know and we would be happy to help.
Is actually impossible to use and the support team doesn't help you at all. thanks a lot. 0 point.
This app was causing our customers in the US to see what they thought was USD pricing even though my page was still recognizing it as "CAD". Manually toggling the currency conversion on our webpage brought our prices down even lower when displayed in USD. I would give zero stars if I could. Edited to add: We did not download the app. It was added to our shop automatically and caused the price problems. Obviously if we knew it would conflict with our current web code, we would not download it on our own.
Hi there, unfortunately this problem is not caused by Geolocation. This is because you are not using Shopify's native multi currency solution and all your orders are being processed in CAD: https://screenshot.click/12-22-22w0x-lxixv.png
We would suggest using the native multi currency feature which would avoid this problem, and also will allow your customers to check out in their local currency. Right now you are only offering currencies on your storefront, and everyone is getting switched to CAD at checkout. We would be happy to help you with this.
No efficient support.
Lost the language options at the bottom of the pages.
The pop-up disappeared also at some point eventhough I had done no changes.
VERY DISAPPOINTED in the app and the so-called "support".
