The channel gave me some problems and I needed help from Support. With their help my problems are now solved and everything is working fine.
I used this app and shortly after my Google My Business profile was suspended. The only thing that changed was using this app. We've had no problems since 2014. Google won't tell me what their problem is now. Awful customer service. We're a brick and mortar bookshop and absolutely qualify. I can only assume this app is to blame. I would avoid it like the plague.

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your experience with the Google channel app. The Google Channel is used to sync product information to your Google Merchant Centre and Google Ads accounts. The channel does not have an association with the Google My Business part of Google's platform, and we do not sync any data to those account types. Easy to set up. Most of it was free i would recommend to any business. Online sales has become more and more frequent.
Terrible app. Beta tested this and was told there would be quick iteration. I told them it needed the full category list and bulk editing months ago.
Cannot believe this is out of beta and they are recommending other customers use it.
Shopify can be lazy but putting this out is practically negligent.
Seems to be a complete misunderstanding of how the Merchant Center is actually used - the approvals process demonstrates this. If the UPC code matches, they will list it as approved even if it lacks a category, age and gender. Yes, that might technically be approved but you can't use it an ad.
This app is an absolute waste of time. The app states it takes up to 10 business days for your products to get approved, well it has been a month now and not a single product has been approved.

The software was hard to use. I eventually worked it out. But the verifying and claiming website process was very confusing.
