The connection between the google channel and YouTube shopping is not working, and neither Shopify Support or Youtube Partner Support know a solution. I think this is a buggy Software tbh.

Our Query to Shopify: We are manually updating google fields for each product even though we had done this in bulk before while uploading using CSV. For example, see attached screenshot. This particular product was uploaded with all details like category, age, condition but still, it shows blank. We are doing all this manually now for each of 2000+ products. The response we received from Shopify: This is expected. These fields were for an older version of the Google app that no longer feeds this into the current Google channel so you will need to manually edit these fields. However you could use an app for this such as Excelify Or for more control over bulk editing these fields [Ablestar Bulk Product Editor(https://apps.shopify.com/bulk-product-editor) This doesn't help. We are not here to install the app and pay for each and every basic thing. what is the use of the google channel app? just ads? Whereas it should also help us make on-page optimization. Also, there is no way to insert canonical tags other than going to edit code. Our view is everything that needs to be done for google must happen from here.
Horrible Customer Service - shopify not google - The app makes lots of errors on the feed (not showing the url). Support are bad, the app is bad.
Horrible Customer Service! We have been running very good shopping campaigns since 2018. Come The end of May 2021 something in Google changed and adds stop running with success and cost skyrocketed. We were getting 500% return on ad spend and now it is one to one. We have reached out to Google from 2 months and the support or underwhelming. We even got disconnected on Phone call and they never attempted to call back. The shopping campaigns are automated and we have accepted/acted upon every recommendation from Google. Support is non existent. We should have learned our lesson after building Google Shopping Site and Google discontinued the efforts.

Any changes to the ads performance would be the because of Google. I make wire wrapped jewelry and i also sell crystals at Leetwraps. Google keeps saying i need GTIN or MPN and i keep hitting custom. it seems ok at first but then a day or two goes back to not being able to publish on google. So sick of this. Facebook and IG reach are so low anymore. I should have just stayed on Etsy.

Linking this app in Shopify is utterly impossible if your shopify admin email address does not match your google ads and google merchant center email addresses.
Google offers no useful support at all so don't count on any help from them. I have sent numerous emails to their support center and they just push me around in circles with no resolution in sight, after weeks of trying.
Stay away from this app if any of your email addresses (in shopify, google ads or google merchant center) is different from the others. Perhaps the app works but i will never know because there is no useful support at all.
We spend thousands of Euro with Google every month, but get no support in return. Very disappointed.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. I apologize for any frustrations you had linking your accounts. I wanted to provide a bit of context as to why we have this requirement around matching emails and why it is done to protect our merchants. The reason we require the admin emails in Merchant Center, Ads, Analytics to match when linking to Shopify is to prevent fraud and any unauthorized account takeovers.
I do see you have had multiple support cases with us and have asked our support leads to take a closer look at your most recent, open case to ensure it is handled properly and hopefully resolves your account linking issue. Thank you again for the review and feedback.
Terrible Terrible Terrible!!! Customer Service is the absolute worst. Nobody helps, all they tell you is to wait and wait. It's been over a month my products have been pending. This is ridiculous!
Thank you for providing us with feedback on the Google Shopping app! Products being stuck in the pending state for over the 10 day estimated timeframe can be quite frustrating. Google needs to review each product variant individually and Shopify has very little control the time frame. Our team is always looking at ways on improving the functionality of our apps your feedback is much appreciated!

Have an ad test pending since Oct 2 2020. I can't delete it cant pause it google was no help when i reached out to them to attempt to have it removed. It states its waiting for their approval over a year later. Cant make a new ad because of this "pending" one. Totally useless app

I don't know how Shopify doesn't step into to help as this situation is ridiculous and we have no alternative and the lowest tier of support from Google. Their AI bot randomly flags products that don't violate their TOS. Items that's I've spend 10s of thousands of dollars advertising with no issue previously. The employees aren't able to override the bots and tell me to "use a work around" with a new productID... Oh, ok, let me just reset all the feedback and SEO to POTENTIALLY comply with your overlord bots. This is the suggestion/response that I get each time I reach out: Thank you for contacting Shopping support regarding your Merchant Center account: [XXXX]. I hope you are doing great. I have checked the account and found that 2 items are disapproved due to Violation of Shopping ads policy. We use automated systems to identify items that violate our policies. These checks are applied to all items for all merchants. I would request you to attempt a potential workaround for this as below:
You may change to a new title and description with more generic terms. You can try to mimic other Merchant's items description and title.
In my experience, some Merchants have success with submitting the disapproved products with a brand new item ID and description. This will allow the system to re-scan the item upon re-upload, which could potentially lead to approval. Note: Once, the information has update, re-upload the feed, as to refresh the product in Merchant Center. It may take up to 3 business days to complete the review. Items that are approved as the result of a review will be eligible to serve on Google Shopping within 24 hours. Here are some problematic offers:

Useless. Many non-functional features. 1-We have GTIN barcodes in all products and keeps saying missing GTIN.
2-On a product we select the correct Age and Gender to the product, we save, but then we go back to the product and stills not showing our selection. Needless to say that then Google will not have those product details. ...and more... Not worth of the Shopify brand. A "stain". The worse: look at the reviews, since long time reported problems, and Shopify does NOTHING to improve it.
