The app works really well, I can answer via desktop or mobile to help customers with any questions, it has helped to secure purchases that may otherwise have been lost.

It is a little confusing when I keep seeing old messages. There's got to be a way where you can ask if the conversation is over for ever, or not...

To help keep your inbox decluttered, you can try closing conversations when you feel the conversation is over. This will move the conversation under the Closed tab and keep the Open tab cleaner. The customer is not notified of you closing a conversation as it just for management on your side. If the customer continues a conversation you had closed, it will automatically be moved back into Open.
You can close a conversation by clicking the dotted line circle on the left of each conversation under Open or clicking the "..." button > "Close conversation".
We do not currently have an easy way to confirm with the customer if the conversation is over forever, which may be the feature you are suggesting. I like the app, but I wish there was a more convenient way to view inbox messages on the backend of Shopify, instead of having to click through to another page.
I love this app. The ability to respond to customers quickly makes a significant difference. It is very user-friendly, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to provide a better service to their clients.

Need the ability for the app to actually not message on the phone when the hours are set to off or unavailable.

In the mean time, you could try snoozing notifications on your device during certain hours. On iOS this is set under the "Focus" settings (i.e. you can silence only the Inbox app during specified hours). On Android this should be called "notification snoozing".
