We love vend and have been using it in our Franchise for years as our point of sale. It's very easy to use, the simplicity saves us time and energy training new retail staff and helps us give our customers a quick in store experience.
We use it both on a laptop and on an iPad and would 110% recommend trying this Pos system. Now things have gotten even better with the new vend shopify integration. With a few simple clicks you can have your entire inventory connected and online.
We have used Vend connected to our Shopify store for years but now it's better designed, more streamlined and easier to set up. If you are using one inventory I suggest loading everything into vend first. Then just use the 'publish to shopify' button and away you go.
This solved shopifys problem of no cost pricing so using vends reporting for important info like finding out your product margins, top sellers, staff sales etc is just an extra bonus. Check out www.unitedsweets.co.nz to see it all in action. We really recommend Vend!
Super user friendly POS, integrates easily with Shopify and makes the admin side of running a small business seamless. Great support, highly recommend.
VEND POS is easy to use. I like to have the flexibility to make sales anywhere and the Shopify integration makes stock control nice and simple
We are a brick & mortar store and just integrated our store with Shopify for Ecommerce. Everything is so easy to use and I have found that support for any reason is absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend Vend.
Bad reviews have merits for sure. However, everything has a flip side. We can't say how well (or not) VEND works with multi-channel retailing. We only sell in our brick & mortar store and online through Shopify integration. One of the biggest positives VEND has got going for it is that it's a proper POS system with COGS and inventory reporting, not this "pos" Shopify calls theirs. Shopify's POS is lacking on so many levels (COGS reporting, anyone?). So if you are a single channel retailer, with a need to integrate Square Payments in your store AND being able to sync inventory with online sales through Shopify, VEND is more than capable. We'd recommend it to anyone.
We are a retail modelshop with over 5000 products on the shelf & more arriving every month, the VEND pos system makes it so easy to put new products into stock & sell them with a barcode scanner or buttons on the touch screen ( ipad. )
Even stock taking is easy with vend , just grab the IPAD & bar code scanner and walk the shop scanning each item.

Vend releases regular new feature updates and seems to take customer feedback seriously. Overall pleased with Vend, and I appreciate that they seem invested in working alongside the Shopify platform, rather than pushing a proprietary ecommerce platform.
Shopify to Vend connection was easy setup and we have experienced minimal disconnections/errors.

However, initial setup process was longer than anticipated and involved re-tagging our entire physical stores (2 locations) and multiple comprehensive inventory counts, though this was partly due to migrating from a different POS platform. It's worth it, but be prepared to work.
I love the inituitive nature of Vend which makes it very easy to navigate around products, customers & all aspects of selling our products! The seamless & pain-free interaction between Vend & Shopify makes for a very positive experience overall.
We've been using Vend for well over a year and the system is ok if you just have a bricks and mortar shop. Unfortunately if you do anything else, Vend are very unhelpful. We are a multichannel retailer and link Vend to our website with Shopify, and then both link to Xero for finance. Because Vend won't accommodate even the simplest request (even with a year's notice) we have to manually close down the online register every night at midnight 365 days a year. Any other system would have automated this, but not Vend. And when you speak to support they just say it's up the product dept (who you can't communicate with). We are left with no option, but to move to another system. Shame really as if they just listened to their customers and modified the system to fit the demands of modern day businesses, it could be a great system.
For us Vend is the best POS software on the market. One of the best interfaces I ever seen and great support and customer service. Before Vend we tried Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite and SAP and for us Vend is more superior than all of them.
