- The support is available quickly to help you on the integration part
- They follow up on topic even after you close the conversation

Negative
- Integration does not contain anyway to capture the customer language (critical on my use case)
- Critical data retention issue. Note that even after you disconnect the Shopify from Mailchimp all your contacts will remain in Mailchimp (even if the pop up says otherwise).
- Moreover, if you delete manually the contacts, they remains in "hidden database". How do I know this ? I tried to synch them back and support told me it is impossible because you deleted them in the past ! Oh yeah, how do you know this without keeping a record ? We don't have the same definition of deletion

I have strong concerned now about the data policy of Mailchimp.

Mailchimp : I am opened to edit my review if you prove me otherwise for the data retention issue. For now, support did not convince me

since installing mail chimp our subscribers have been falsely inflated with fraudulent orders so they can charge us more - as its charged by Subscriber.

didn't like gave something weird email address, looked very weird and spam one hour tried and deleted maybe it is only my experience. but better without it

Mai gave great customer support when I had a automation flow problem. She was able to fix the issue but after leaving the chat and adding a new field to the form, the automation failed again and two subsequent support staff were not able to fix the problem. I was told the matter would be escalated but I've heard nothing and its been 24 hours. I am leaving Mailchimp, spent too many hours formatting emails and it has come to this. Not happy.

I signed up for Mailchimp’s Essential plan, but without my consent they automatically switched me to a more expensive plan and charged me extra. The reason? Simply importing contacts — even though not all of them are subscribers. In the end, Mailchimp only recognized 302 active emails, yet they forced me into a higher tier and billed me more.
This feels completely unfair and misleading. If I had actually used a larger audience, I could understand the cost increase. But being charged for contacts that aren’t even active subscribers makes no sense.
To make things worse, the system gives you no clear warning before upgrading and charging extra. It feels like a trap to push users into paying more.
I regret choosing Mailchimp — the pricing model is deceptive, support is slow, and instead of helping small businesses, it takes advantage of them.
I will be canceling and moving to another platform.

If you have too many different customer tags in Shopify, this app stops syncing any customer tags. We've spent 3 weeks full-time trying to fix this with no luck. Then it synced tens of thousands of old contacts from Shopify to Mailchimp with no way to filter them out, doubling our Mailchimp costs due to extra subscribers. We will have to pay a developer to build a custom Shopify-Mailchimp syncing app to compensate for this app's deficiencies.

Edit: I've tried all combinations of options, including trying to only sync specific tags. That didn't work either.

Cannot load: The app couldn’t be loaded. This app can’t load due to an issue with browser cookies. Try enabling cookies in your browser or switching to another browser. I tried to contact the support team, but they could not help me solve the issue. Please refund my money.

In the prices listed on Shopify, it says that the price for the essential plan is $13 per month for up to 50,000 contacts. Once the app is installed, however, they ask for €345. Also, the app is very slow and the chatbot on their support site doesn't work... with what face do they ask for all this money?

Such a predatory pricing structure. Klaviyo's pricing was more upfront and honest, plus open rates DOUBLED. We've been with Mailchimp for 12 years, it's no longer king of email since it was acquired.

JUST A MASSIVE RIP OFF. Great sales pitch...so I signed up, only to find that a massively complex set up include DNS settings. Because I have 45,000 contacts it then charged me for all of these despite only 21,000 being subscribers. So, so far not 1 email sent and £500 in charges. Avoid these people like the plague.
