The app works well for visual variant splitting on collection pages, and the support team is responsive and genuinely trying to improve the product.

That said, it’s important to highlight a structural limitation. Variant Split is purely visual. Shopify filters operate at product level, not variant level, so when a product matches a filter via one variant, the app still renders all variant tiles unless Variant Split is disabled.

The team is actively working on a workaround (disabling Variant Split when filters are applied), which helps prevent incorrect filtering results. However, this also leads to an inconsistent UX, as the collection grid behaves differently with and without filters, and the filtered color is not always visually reflected.

To be fair, the team does make an effort to develop and improve the app, but progress can be quite slow. I’ve been facing this issue for several days, and it’s still not fully resolved.

Overall, the app is useful for basic variant visualization, but it’s not ideal for stores that require strict, color-accurate filtering on collection pages.

Fast support, Snow provided a clear and detailed guide on the variant images feature. Highly recommended!

Initially got great help, but then my product images stopped showing and after a few emails with support, I felt like they weren't going to help.

Edit: Regarding their reply below → The NS team reached out a month later on Thanksgiving weekend. I removed another star from my rating because this is poor timing regardless of the circumstance. It's also somewhat suspicious timing since most stores are either on vacation or slammed with BFCM.

So far so good. I had one problem where I couldn't figure out how to make a variant show up on the selectable list of items within the app (because I had altered variant name within product page), and they got back to my chat inquiry within minutes and helped me fix it quick. It was just me forgetting a pretty basic step, but it was nice to have the responsiveness. I'm pretty inexperienced and running the free version only for now, but will consider the paid version if my needs expand.

NS color swatch er en gamechanger for webshops. Det er nemt at sætte op og generelt at sætte sig ind i. Det er en lækker måde at vise at man har flere varianter visuelt uden at man skal have en produkt for hver variant. Den får 4 stjerner og vil få 5, hvis det var muligt at bruge de små farve swatches samtidig med at at have variant split til på kollektionsiden og andre steder.

A true blessing! Our extensive product variations made ordering challenging for our customers. I thought I needed to hire a coder, but this integration with our current website theme was incredibly easy to use and made our site clean and simple for customers to place orders!

I cannot recommend this app enough. I have tried every colour/image swatch app under the sun. Every one had missing features, gaps that needed code edits to mitigate, or bloated extras that did nothing but complicate things.

This app is simple to understand and use. But has all of the tools in the right way to make managing swatches easy. I swear I would of pulled all of my hair out if not for this app. It fit our use case perfectly without any funny business.

I was always looking for a free method to display custom switches and product options on my Shopify product page, most other apps and themes that have in built variant options are paid, so NS Image Switch was a no brainer for me. Recently had an issue where Lily and Stephen from Dev team helped me out instantly. Would definitely recommend NS Image Switch Variant to anyone looking for a solid app to handle their variant options.

One of the best app for color Swatches. They show on collection and product page both. Simple integration and best part is its free. Loved the super quick response from support team. One click switch between variant image and variant color. Solved my all problems.
