I had this app installed on 2 stores for Black Friday. Had to uninstall it 30 minutes after my sale started as it was not working as it was supposed to.
Had been testing them out for about 2 weeks and all the edits I had made on one store, kept copying over to my other store. I thought I was hallucinating.
They acknowledged the issue and blamed it on something about L Frame. They said I could only make changes to one store at a time ( I had both stores open in different browser tabs). It was a pain in the butt to do because both stores are exactly the same, just set up for different currencies.
I moved ahead anyways and tested and tested and tested to make sure everything looked good.
At midnight on Black Friday the app basically crashed. My social media and inbox was a mess with customers complaining that:
1. discounts weren't showing up on product pages.
2. when the discounts did show up, they disappeared by the time customers were ready to check out.
For some customers, worked perfectly fine.
At the end of it all, it turned into a huge administrative headache that we didn't need and didn't do as well as we'd predicted. We believe that this app is the cause.
We historically have just used promo codes for big sales, but wanted to avoid the headache of "I forgot to use the code" and wanted to do sitewide, timed sales.
Cleaning up the Bold mess was an even bigger mess that we're STILL dealing with as customers are receiving their credit card statements.
A few days later I contacted their support to express my disappointment and asked for a refund, they agreed to do so and said it would be done in 10 days or so. I contacted them again after not seeing the refund, they said to check again Dec 25 (????).
As of Jan 5, 2017, I STILL Don't have a refund.
Update Jan 6th. Finally received my refund
I used this app and it worked great during the free trial. Once I used it for a bigger discount on more products, that's when the issue started. First problem, it turned all my "Out of stock" products in to "Sold Out" even though they had been selected to "Continue Selling When Out of Stock". Second problem, after I deleted the discount to correct the issue, the discounted price still continued to show and products continued to show "Sold Out". I manually changed over 100 products to remove the discounted price, but after a few minutes they all went back to the discounted price. I then tried an Import CVS file of all my products with the correct price, and after a few minutes I had the same discounted price and "Sold Out" appear. When I reached out to customer service, the representative kept blaming other applications in my store on the issue. I hadn't had any issues with the other apps that have been working great for months now. I have used the Shopify platform for 5 years, I have a pretty good idea on how the apps work and how they integrate. This new app triggered a series of problems on my website, and they would not want to admit it. I just wanted to uninstall and reinstall the application to see if the problem could be resolved, but they would avoid answering me on whether I could do that or not, so I am uninstalling. I liked the app before the issues. Hopefully, you won't have my same issue. Good luck.
let's just say we haven't gotten started off on the right foot with bold apps. i read all the reviews, spent hours setting up my BFCM sale, got excited for it to launch, then the day of I woke up to dozens of emails and DMs from frustrated customers saying the discount disappeared when they go to the cart. 8 hours later of being on and off with customer support a solution was found...by me! the slide out cart app we had seemed to be causing the problem, i deleted it and went on my way as it seemed everything was working fine. went to bed exhausted, then woke up to our drop down menu not working and the bold discount app applying 20% off of everything (including brands that are never allowed to go on sale), now my thanksgiving day is being spent (again) being consumed with trying to get this resolved. frustrating to say the least, i don't have a happy experience with bold 11.28.20 UPDATE
So if one of your experts reach out it wasn't to me as I haven't received any requests from anyone at BOLD. I would be interested in speaking with them.

Unfortunately, automatic install messed our theme and custom installation by app tech support didn't work either.
This app has some major problems and is absolutely the slowest syncing app I have ever used. I made several discounts and added them to my store and they showed correctly. I started running the promotions but when I checked the next morning all the discounts were gone. The product still showed the Sale logo but the price was back to full retail. Support told me I would have to make each discount inactive and let it sync and then activate and sync it again. This took me over 8 hours but worked and discounts were showing again even though the amount of time it took was ridiculous. Next morning I check my site and all the discounts are gone again. I sent another email to support several hours ago but still have not heard back from them. I am looking for another app that will work now.
They do not know what they are doing. I asked them questions and they say let me send you some literature. Instead of answering the question. I was unhappy with the service during the trial and I deleted it before the trial ended but the sale is still going on, even though I have written to customer service four times in the past 6 days. I get an email they are going to help me but they dont. I am in bold Hell.

Absolutely cannot believe I'm dealing with this on Black Friday weekend. So of course you don't know until your sale is live, but with this app you can't allow the use of any 3rd party payment app (only shopify payments) because if you allow other ones, customers don't actually get a discount. AND customers cannot check out in their selected currency. This has cost me at least one sale that I'm aware of. Who even knows how many more. This app is completely pointless. The only reason I downloaded it was so my customers wouldn't have to enter discount codes. Instead I got 2 other (worse) problems. Will be uninstalling immediately after the weekend. EDITED TO ADD: After having multiple issues with my code after uninstalling their discounts app, I've learned that these problems are KNOWN ISSUES with using their apps!

I'm sure this app is useful for smaller shops. Unfortunately, we found it to be very inconsistent and unreliable. Support is very slow and there are features that don't work the way they claim. Shops with collections carrying more than 50 products aren't going to have a good time.
I was very hopeful when I first found the app but left after the free trial to find a more reliable solution.

This app didn't do what I needed for my own store, which is fine as that happens frequently. However, even after deleting the app, it has caused issues in my theme which has completely changed the layout on my collections pages and the way my prices are shown. My website does not load properly and looks unprofessional. I have reached out to their support team a few days ago and have not heard. I would not recommend this app, even if it did what you wanted it to because their customer service is unresponsive.
