We love this app. We've used it on our other website at American Made Dorm & Home and it is fabulous. Great customer service. One day turnaround on uploading this app to our Liz and Roo website. Thanks for the awesome service!
Updated Review: We were on the premium plan with the Bold PO app and have experienced a significant decline in quality of customer service and the app in general since SCPO acquired it. At first we were excited that they reduced the monthly price point for the premium version by $10/month, but it has come with a serious cost...
Since April 2024, we have encountered issues with incorrect orders, missing required fields, and improper customer charges. Despite customer service's attempts to fix these problems through coding changes, the issue was not resolved and it took over a month of back-and-forth communication to finally have it fixed.
Unfortunately, since that time we have started to have other issues pop up related to the code changes that SCPO made to the site when attempting to troubleshoot our issue in April. Shopify and our theme developer have confirmed the issues are related to those changes made in April, however SCPO said that is not true. As they were unable to assist, I had to seek assistance from an outside tech person to address the issue that they stated they could not find evidence of.
Recently, I again noticed an issue where if someone is changing dropdown menu fields that have a price adjustment attached to them, that the pricing is not always updating correctly on the product. Sometimes it states a price much lower or much higher than it truly should be. I also was not able to add this product to my cart. I sent video evidence of this to customer service and they said they would need to pass it on to the developer to review. I just received an email from the development team not addressing my stated issues whatsoever and telling me that the app is working as it should when this is simply not true. I am beyond frustrated at having an app that I pay $40/month for and my tech issues are not thoroughly investigated, the responses I receive fail to address the issues at hand, and they repeatedly dismiss concerns of which there is video evidence that they do, indeed, exist.
SCPO, it is time for your developers and customer service team to do better and support your clientele.

Previous Review: We have been using this app for about the past 6 months. We utilize the Premium version and for what it is, it is quite pricey; being the only app we found that will alter the pricing at the top of the page with variants, they have a corner on the market, however. For $50/month the easy of editing variants could be better. Another large drawback of the app is that you cannot utilize currency selectors for customers as Bold variants will not adapt, resulting in undercharging of customers and lost revenue. Customer service has been fair as well as overall experience. Again, biggest issue would be premium pricing is $$$$ for what it is.

First the app. The app is not simple to install, thank god we have a web developer who did it for us. Alternatively, you can pay BOLD money to do it for you, which seems shady; make an app, but make it very difficult for a normal user to install, and then charge more money.
The app itself is fairly simple to use and do the job of what we need it to. However, the options will not show to your clients if their browser does not have Java enabled. Fun little fact, many mobile clients don't have Java. So you're basically losing out on tons of potential customers. Also, if you are trying to generate reports and exporting your orders via .csv files (excel), your options will not be there.
Now BOLD as a company and their support are absolutely atrocious. Multiple times, over the last 3 1/2 months of using this app, we have attempted to contact their support team. They advertise 9-5 M-F. We always call within those hours and it always goes to their voicemail. We leave messages and they have never called us back. When talking about a support ticket, they will email us instead, which doesn't work for us. Often times the advice or "fix" they give is incorrect and doesn't work, which is frustrating with the massive gaps in communication time.
I would give the app a 3 because it does what it is suppose to, despite having some flaws and I would give bold a 0-1 because they have horrible customer service.
Edited 2021: So almost 4 years later, I still use the service and the support still rock!
Honestly, very simple to use! a lot of options are available.
i've use the support and jordan and julian help me to resolve an issue which was not even due to bold options !! love those guys
Products options work well. Would be nice if the app generated custom SKUs based on the options though.
Really helps in solving the problem of adding more variants than are allowed by the Shopify variant limit. In addition, this app is fantastic with conditional logic for providing alternative options when particular options are selected.
The support team is very quick to answer and thorough with their responses. Not only will they respond, but they went out of their way to actually set up an example for me in my store so I could see exactly how to perform the action I wanted.
These guys have been great and responsive in helping us get this app set up with our premium theme. Thanks guys. Keep up the good work.
Was really frustrated with the app but Rahul did an amazing job explaining the process and what need to be done in order to get to how I wanted the app to look like. He was fast to response and answered pretty much every questions I have. Overall, I really impressed with the customer service.

I would not be in business without this application! We offer so many custom options and the 100 SKU limit with shopify and only 3 options made things difficult. Once I added this on, we got so many upsales since everything was right there and you could just check things, add things so people add a lot of customization and stuff that really makes more money. Great service - they went above and beyond setting things up, changing elements of our theme, mobile site, etc. Was helped tremendously by Lawrence.
An amazing app! Any questions I have had have been answered very quickly with lots of helpful advice along the way.
