BEWARE - THEY USE YOUR CHECKOUT PAGE AS THEIR AD FARM.
When I found out about it from an upset customer, I contacted Shopify and they identified the issue was Reconvert showing their ads on our website.
When I contacted Reconvert, they stated that yes they do and it's a "feature". I never accepted this - ads were being shown without our consent or knowledge.
We lost significant brand trust.
On top of that, it was not worth the cost. Reconvert rarely resulted in sales and never paid for itself.
It turned out to be a liability in every way.

Regarding the ad feature, our goal was to provide a new revenue stream for our merchants. We understand that transparency is vital, which is why we sent out a notification to all users two weeks before the feature went live with instructions on how to opt-out. However, we clearly missed the mark in ensuring this was communicated effectively to you, and we take your feedback to heart.
We also regret to hear that the app’s ROI didn’t meet your expectations. We want our tools to be a growth engine for your business, not a liability.

We didn't use the app for probably a year or so und forgot to delete it. With the time, the amounts charged went 10x out of nowhere. Last month they charged us $319 for nothing.
Seems very criminal.

Be aware! This app charges based on how many orders you made and it doesn't matter what sales channel or if the upsell is displayed at all. For 2 months I was selling a lot at live events using Point of Sale when I sold things myself and their app was never used but yet those orders counted toward my total order count and they charged me for the highest tier £19.76 for 2 months. This pricing is a rip off and doesn't make sense.

Extremely unethical and scammy app do not use them. It's absolutely not worth it.
They install a bunch of scam offers like some "capital one affilate offers" on your checkout page that show to all your customers without your consent. And when I confront them in the customer support chat, they claim that this "beneficial feature" a feature.
That's beneficial, they're just stealing money via affiliate offers from your customers and claim that this feature never automatically gets turned on. It's complete bullshit, I never turned this on in my life.
These people need to watch out or i imagine they will get sued very soon for these extremely unethical business practices.

The feature you're referring to was announced to all merchants via email two weeks prior to launch with full instructions on how to opt-out. After investigating your account, we found that because you had previously unsubscribed from all product update communications, you didn't receive that specific notification. This was a technical limitation of the unsubscribe settings, not an attempt to bypass your consent.
We have already disabled the feature for your store and reached out to you via email with a resolution.
We haven't heard back from you yet, but we would love to resolve this. Please check your inbox or reach out to us.
BEWARE!!! THEY WILL CONTINUE TO CHARGE YOU EVEN WHEN YOU ASK THEM SEVERAL TIMES TO CANCEL!!!!!! Would not work with my theme and needed to write code for it. Would NEVER RECOMMEND. IM ABOUT TO CALL A LAWYER!!!

Alex was amazing! I started a convo and he was on it within seconds. I had sooo many qns and he answered them patiently and meticulously, always with screenshots.
While the UI is not the most intuitive, my experience w support was wonderful. Thank you!
Very difficult to set up. Support responds quickly but continually throws their terms at you that you are supposed to understand . Don't answer questions thoroughly enough for you to be able to get anywhere with support.

I had a very frustrating experience with Upsell.com.
There is no clear or real time overview of the costs you are building up while using the app. Charges are not visible in advance and are suddenly deducted, which came as a complete surprise.
In my case the app generated €340.86 in upsell revenue, while €424.70 was charged in usage fees. Paying more than the app earns makes no sense for a merchant.
The pricing structure is unclear and based on impressions that often do not convert, yet still count towards billing. Without clear cost visibility or safeguards this app is risky to use.
I would not recommend this app unless you are willing to constantly monitor your Shopify bill and accept unexpected charges.
Upsell has helped me drive more revenue with minimal effort. I continue to test different offers on my thank you and order confirmation page and we see a path to continuing to drive higher cart values and real impact to our business revenue and profit.
