Shopify Search & Discovery

It helps me understand what other fields do and it shows me how can it help me. Who came up with this is a genius!

The support can only write half a screen of text about how sorry they are and how they understand how important it is. But the ability to solve the problem is absent. I never thought I would say this, but Shopify support has become more useless than ...

The app works pretty well as a free offering. It won out in A/B testing from our previous paid solution. I'm hoping the developers introduce a setting to 'draft' status filters so that they can be hidden from a store without totally deleting them and having to re add them at a later date.

I would also like a preview option on draft filters so we can do something like setup a large meta field list without impacting the prod site when looking to preview the filter.

Currently I am having to setup a product meta field on our sandbox store of over 18k products so that I can preview that meta field list color filtering 'AND' behavior works as expected and then I will have to bring all these meta field values over to our prod store.

A simpler solution would allow me to setup the meta fields on the prod store, preview the new Color filter on prod without making it live to test it, and then if it works as expected setting it to live.

Another nice to have, would be to make product.options by Color as an AND filter by default instead of OR so that a metafield list wouldn't even be necessary.

The good things are tha this app is free but it still can be improved.
Sometimes if you dont use the quotation marks with more than 1 term or AND / OR which most clients don't know the results that come up are weird.

i had to put an info bar about the header explaining how to search with quotation marks, AND / OR so that the results are much better.
This should be done in a more intuitive way with options inside the search bar so you don't have to add all that info in another place.

AI should also improve with time. I hope to see more development and more options to refine this search tool.

I have not tried it out with thousands of products, so do not know how it delivers in that situation

app does not actually filter sizes, i have tried everything and it still does not work. sadly i have to go back to paying for an app which can filter properly

Only reason I did not give a 5 was because the search function when searching for items to add to the complimentary doesnt work well at all. Search for BL#7 and you get 50 ...

there doesn't seem to be support for metaobject templates in search, so the site won't index the pages using those templates. I'd like to find if there's a workaround but can't seem to get any help.

There is no add to cart button in the search results. This should be a default feature. (Refresh Theme).
