Shop is clean, organized and easy to use. While they are developing new designs, tools and resources to better promote services and business, the app does well to translate the experience of our individual storefronts into the Shop space and effective POS purchasing.
Looking forward to growing with the app and finding even larger communities that appreciate ease of business and quality of service, goods and communication through effective technology.
I love how smoothly the app operates and the conversion rate has been pretty good as well. i'm really thinking about adding a couple of other stores i have to the shop app.
SO Far OK. at first a little confusing to get going, still not sure I fully understand everything. I think interface could be improved. I wish there was better organic discovery within the shop app, and I wish there was a web portal for it where people could browse online and favorite shops because alot of people still do desktop shopping and browsing, rather than phone. That said i have had SOME sales from it like a handful, so it's better than nothing! :)
A very slick channel, easy to edit, customers enjoy using it and the ease of checking out.
Unfortunately if you use, say infinite options because your catalogue is super wide rather than deep, and the ridiculous 100 variant cap is quickly met, shop will not work. and of course to upset customers who didn't get what they thought that might, it's all merchants fault according to shopify.
As soon as shopify gives all it's merchants the options of making more than 100 veriants I'll launch shop again. until then, they'll just keep shooting themselves in the feet thinking all stores sell 3 variants of stuff.
Great app on it's own but comes with the caveat that when customers who have used shop pay before go to checkout in your store, it implements a forced re-direct from your normal checkout page to a shop pay page where EVERY OTHER payment option you have painstakingly implemented for your store is HIDDEN. Literally holding your checkout page to ransom. "As a workaround, a customer prefers to use a different payment method, they will need to check out using an incognito browser OR select the Checkout as a Guest option in the Shop Pay checkout. Additionally, clearing their browser's cookies and cache completely—ideally from "All Time"—might help as well." This was the official reply I received from Shopify if you can believe it, I still can't.
I am pleased, overall, with my experience as someone new to building a store and no technical background. I'm not thrilled with having to pay for additional subscription apps to make it functional, but most of the apps at least have a "small" shop level that will allow me (and others) to scale before killing us with fees.
I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with Shopify's lack of effective security measures against fraudulent transactions. Recently, a customer made a purchase from my Shopify store, received the product and service promptly, and then falsely reported the transaction as fraudulent to their bank. Shopify did not flag the transaction as suspicious, and the customer's bank did not block their card either, yet they ruled against me. As a result, not only did I have to return the purchase amount, but I was also charged a $15 investigation fee by the bank.
Shockingly, the same customer exploited this vulnerability again just two weeks later, repeating the same fraudulent behavior. Once again, Shopify provided no warning or protection, resulting in another financial loss for me and another unjustified $15 fee.
In total, due to Shopify's inadequate security and the bank's oversight, I lost $230 in just one month. My store has been running successfully for seven years, and now I feel completely unprotected and vulnerable. This situation encourages dishonest people to exploit hard-working business owners like myself. I urge Shopify to strengthen their security protocols and protect their merchants from this type of blatant fraud and abuse.
The technical support is quite abysmal. God forbid you have some 1-star archived reviews with your partner app (with issues already resolved with customers), they will cause a nightmare that is near-impossible to fix, as Shop will still reflect a negative rating, even once those reviews are permanently deleted. A true nightmare for Shopify's paying merchants. Be warned...
If I could give zero stars, I would. Their latest update is a complete disaster for merchants. I needed to charge tax on top of my prices for the USA, but thanks to their brilliant new system, taxes are now automatically deducted from my prices—completely eating into my margins.
I reached out for support 23 days ago. TWENTY-THREE DAYS. Multiple follow-ups, zero meaningful responses. Just a black hole of incompetence. How does a company running an e-commerce platform not prioritize fixing an issue that directly impacts sellers’ revenue?
I’m deactivating my shop and moving on. Shopify clearly doesn’t care about its merchants, only their own bottom line.
This app is great with exception of Shop Advertising campaigns, they offer campaigns base on the sale with a ROI that you select but it is a lie , as i just had a sale for $470 and they charge me $360 for advertising charges and my ROI was 2.5 . So $360 is not an ROI of 2.5 .They anwser that in the small letters the ROI is not guarantee and they will charge you what they want and if you cancel the sale they will also charge me the $360.
