I had just launched my small business, I have had Shopping Gives installed for many months. It was easy to install and looked and functioned great, after figuring out some glitches.
I created social media, print & email campaigns around this app and the causes I was highlighting, and then out of nowhere the company take it from FREE to over $300 per year, plus a small percent of my sales.
I get that to keep this app running smoothly a monthly fee might be incurred down the line but for very small businesses that want to launch with Giving at the center of their business and with very little volume this is incredibly expensive.
I've had to delete all my campaigns along with the app because I just could not afford this being so new. I'm currently looking for something different that I can grow with.
The app is great but do not recommend for small businesses.

Imagine charging subscriptions AND taking a fee to let businesses do good in the world. What a joke. Worked great before they started double dipping to buy themselves some shiny new toys.
Since they replied saying they aren't double dipping.. here is a quote from THEIR site:

So they aren't taking from the donations, which is nice. But they are charging monthly, and taking a .5% of EVERY ORDER TOTAL. Greedy are we?

Hi BU Tribe is a new store and giving is part of our mission and vision strategy. We discovered the app via a shopify blog and got so excited about the prospect of having it. When we initially downloaded the app we were uncertain as to how to configure it and what would work for us at this early phase in our development as an online store. We reached out to the company and they got back to us immediately scheduling a one-on-one meeting with us. Savannah from shopping gives was our meeting host and she walked us through the entire process patiently giving us clarity as to options and how the whole system worked. When we installed the app there were a few glitches possibly due to our theme, we still were not sure but I was so blown away at their level of customer service. Savannah rallied the team and they worked tirelessly to ensure the app was working correctly in the store, it took hours and the communication was second to none, it was almost like I got a progress report and testing exercise every half an hour until it worked. I even asked Savannah if she slept...lol...as even late in the night she wanted to check if it was working correctly and if everything was ok. Their customer service and support would inspire anyone to be patient and understanding. They are a fantastic group, I am so happy to be collaborating with them in this giving process. I hope other companies come onboard, and I am wishing the team tremendous success and growth for the lifecycle journey of this app.
We were looking for an app that allowed us to run cause marketing programs in our store and found Shopping Gives. With a tight timeline, we were able to make it happen due to their great customer service. The app just works.

Great app with all the options you need! Easy to install, configure, and use. The team at ShoppingGives also provides fantastic support.
I recently tried out the "Shopping Gives" app and unfortunately, I have to give it a 3-star rating. Initially, I was excited about the concept of the app - taking a portion of each sale and donating it to non-profits. It seemed like a great way to give back without any extra cost to me or my customers. However, I recently received an email from the app stating that they will now be charging $29 a month regardless of order volume or donations made.
What's most frustrating is that there was no warning about this cost when I first downloaded the app. If I had known that they would start charging a monthly fee, I would have never bothered with this app in the first place. And to make matters worse, I don't even understand what the $29 is going towards, since my customers are already having their donations donated.
Overall, I'm very disappointed with this app and will be uninstalling it immediately. I'll be on the lookout for other apps that allow me to donate to non-profits without any hidden costs or fees.

Please check with charity to verify receipt of donations. I am a Shopify owner but also the founder of a non-profit for U.S. Veterans. I began with Shopping Gives in March, as of the end of May we had not receive a single payment to the charity. Shopping Gives explained about cycle times and we would be receiving payment soon. I immediately paused service because no charity should have to wait over two months to receive funds. It will be easier and faster for us to make the payment directly to the charity.

As a Certified B Corporation, ShoppingGives holds itself to the highest standards, supporting nonprofit organizations while complying with cause marketing regulation. 100% of the pledged donation always gets sent to the nonprofit, and ShoppingGives never takes a portion of pledged donations.
Once one of our merchant partners begins generating pledged donations, we will invoice them for those pledged donations either every 30 days or once they reach $50, whichever comes first. From there, we have a 30-day lock period to account for returned or canceled orders, in which case pledged donations would be canceled/credited back to the merchant. Once the pledged donations have passed that lock period, we grant 100% of funds through our partnership with PayPal Giving Fund or directly to a nonprofit bank account through Stripe.
Additionally, by using ShoppingGives and joining our campaign with the ShoppingGives Foundation, our merchant partners can focus on their business while we keep them compliant in the complexities of cause marketing, including consumer protection transparency, maintaining all necessary registrations with government entities, and filing commercial co-venture agreements surrounding the nonprofit campaign itself.
At ShoppingGives, our goal is to make it easier for nonprofits, merchants, and shoppers to be connected to support nonprofit organizations in delivering on their missions, and we always want to be transparent in the way that we support nonprofit organizations.
Based on our communication through email, we clarified that no donations can be disbursed until payment is received for the open billing.

I just launched my website https://sadieb.co/ with Shopping Gives! I met with two of their team members on Monday and they were able to get me set up on Thursday. As a small business, I selected the starter package and the customer service team had to do some customization to include a feature that is usually only available in their premium package. I am so grateful they were willing to do this for me! What an incredible company!
