They promise "hands on migration service" but in reality they just tell you to figure it out by yourself.

- I was asked to contact Shopify support to figure out importing of customers. Instead of "hands on" guidance from the support
- I had to figure out exporting data from previous payment processors as Appstle documentation was out of date
- I was also asked to contact WooCommerce Subscriptions support to figure out how to export subscriptions data from our old platform. Instead of "hands on" guidance from the support.

We're sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet expectations. I'd like to clarify that our migration specifically involves migrating the data that you provide to us to Appstle. This includes cleaning the data, fixing missing fields, and running tests, before the final switch to Appstle. However, migration does not include data extraction or export from your previous software platforms, since we do not have the authorization for it. Only you or your store representatives can do that, legally.

The success of the migration process completely depends on us getting the data exported (even if they are not perfect) from your previous software. Without it, our hands are tied.

When you run into issues with your previous software provider such as WooCommerce, their support teams are the best to help sort it out, since our migration specialists are not experts in WooCommerce or other third-party platforms. If you're unsure how to obtain the subscription data from your previous/current platform before migrating, we strongly recommend reaching out to their support team for guidance.

We have migrated many merchants in the past from WooCommerce, and they were able to export their data from the WooCommerce subscription tool. If you have any more questions about the data we need from WooCommerce. pls reach out to support@appstle.com.

When I was trying to install the app for first time they were very helpful, in fact, they gave me a feature as a nice gesture. But when I had a few problems trying to set the app. I found the support unfriendly.
In order to be able to change something simple as a font, you need to hire a developer, the widget and the interface is not user-friendly. and the design of the pages, well, not design at all. So I think is a complex app. A lot of features are paid.

App was good until 2 of my clients needed to update their payment methods. There's a glitch in the app that will not let them update their payment methods. The link that's emailed to them to correct the payment method, just takes them back to the original message. SO FRUSTRATING! I tried deleting the clients to re add them, but I can't cancel the subscriptions so it won't let me delete the client to attempt to re add them. Major glitch!

This is Ria, the co-founder of Appstle. I have thoroughly reviewed your concern. Your customers were not able to update their payment information from the email received from Shopify.

Please be advised that the payment information is solely handled by Shopify, and we as a Shopify native subscription app, can only process the payments using encrypted data. We do not update or modify payment methods, as it is controlled by Shopify.

I added the shipping profiles, still everytime a customer added subscriptions to their carts, the payment could not be made. Waste of time and lost a couple of sales

Kate has been a great help in integrating the customer data from my old subscription company (which is now out of business). She made the process seamless.

Edit: Unfortunately, I will be switching to a different app. You cannot reschedule, edit, or cancel customer subscriptions without the $ 100 USD business premium. This is vital for my business, as often customers ask me to edit their subscriptions for them. This would cost over $1200 a year, which is not reasonable.

Even if you're on our free plan, your customers can easily manage their subscriptions. This includes editing, pausing, rescheduling, or even canceling their subscriptions — all through the Customer Portal, which is automatically integrated within their accounts page. There’s no need for a Business Premium plan for this feature, as it’s included for your customers from the get-go.

We understand that managing subscriptions independently is important for your business, and we’re here to ensure that you’re set up to use the features that best suit your needs.

its not user friendly for the subscriber when they want to cancel. When they want to cancel they email me and it takes up to much time

I’ve reviewed your store configuration and noticed there might have been some confusion. Customers CAN easily manage their subscriptions with Appstle. We offer one of the most comprehensive customer portal.

However, since you're using the Shopify Customer Account Pages approach, the Manage Subscription button needs to be manually added. This button wasn’t configured on your account page, which is why customers couldn’t manage their subscriptions directly. We’ve now gone ahead and integrated the Manage Subscription button on your account page. Once a customer logs into their account on your Shopify store, they’ll see the button and can manage their subscription with ease.

Please take a moment to check and confirm that everything is working as expected. Let us know if you have any further questions. Our support team is available 24x7x365.

Not compatible with new Auth.net integration. Reached out to support and they told me to contact Shopify. Probably still works fine with Shop Pay but don't recommend for anyone using Auth.net.

Dear Merchant,

This is Ria, co-founder of Appstle. I want to clarify that as a native Shopify app, our payments and associated gateways purely and 100% stem from Shopify. As in, we work only with payment methods that Shopify integrates with.

As for Authorize.net, Shopify's still supports it. However, recently, Authorize.net introduced a new version, which doesn't yet integrate with Shopify for subscriptions and recurring payments. Unfortunately, this is a direct limitation on the payment gateway side and as a Shopify native subscription application, it is out of our scope. We are continuously monitoring the payment gateway updates from Shopify and once it is available for the new Authorize.net version, we will be automatically supporting it.

Was interested in the app with all the reviews but when I scheduled a demo nobody showed up and nobody contacted me. Not interested in trying an app that does not offer good service.

Great price but I’ve been waiting over a week for their developers to move only 2 subscribers from bold to appstle and no response or resolution. This is my second time making the request so I’m still paying bold while waiting for appstle to do something they claim is super quick and easy.

Since, the migration process involves data which is required from the previous app, we could not move subscribers to Appstle until all data was in place. **Latest Update** Well the lead dev/co-founder has been very difficult to communicate with. But these guys have made their analytics section 10x's better since I spoke up. So I need to give credit where credit is due. They deserve it. But we are also having trouble with email's not being sent....a bunch of our customers aren't getting appstle's emails and sure enough the tests are returning errors....they have no solution for it. Its a very buggy application, and the devs don't like to admit ANY fault and can be difficult to deal with. Their reviews are fake....check the other 1 star reviews to see the real situation, here. I really hope we can find a way to move off the app before we get to big.

The absolute worst analytics section i've ever seen. English isn't the first language of their UI devs so the definitions of the features make no sense at all.... and they clearly have no experience running subscription models - they are missing every crucial piece of data that we need - its seriously the worst analytics section i've seen in 8 years...it shows nothing of use and is missing everything we need.

It doesn't even show a real churn rate...its a different calculation that no one would ever use or need. It doesn't show total revenue generated. And it doesn't show any approval rates. I'm telling you guys.....its like these people have ZERO experience with the subscription model. I am beyond frustrated because we built our entire store into this thing.

The support is fast and that's the only reason this isn't a 1 star.

The widget on the site breaks all the time and every time we list a new product, we have to ask their devs to fix their widget....and they NEVER do it right the first time and we have to point out their mistakes over and over and over - this has happened 3 times now and each time they promise to fix it.... and of course, they do nothing.

This app is so disappointing. Unless they fix their analytics, there is no way for us to scale on this. It really sucks.

This is Hemant, the co-founder and CTO of Appstle. I am an ex-Apple Siri Staff Engineer and one of my focus areas was analytics.

Sharing what I mentioned on our call, our analytics definition and formulas adhere to common parlance, as well and other app benchmarks. If we change the metric formula per your request alone, it will affect our 20,000+ other merchants.
We still added a new and unique metric based on your store’s needs and preferred input variables, and unfortunately, beyond that, we will not able to change the label of our existing metric.

As regards the widget, our investigation showed that your store was using 2 different templates for 2 different products. Our team was not privy to this critical information and hence we configured widget based on just one template.
