Good feature. Really hope that the team can implement "Glossary/Dictionary" to apply translation for key words.
Am I missing something? Why only allowed to translate 2 languages? While the app did a great job of translating the two languages I chose, it was disheartening to see so little variety.
Translate & Adapt allows for 2 auto translated languages. You can translate up to 20 languages manually (that's 18 languages more). There is a cost associated with letting merchants auto-translate and that is the reason why it is limited. We are looking options to pay for additional languages similarly to other translation apps in the Shopify ecosystem. Translate & Adapt is the only app that lets you auto translate whole 2 languages for free.
We have seen merchants who want to auto translate more language and are using other apps or Translate & Adapt in addition to other apps.
Hello,
everything works fine except for 2 things:
1. the main menu is not translated
2. And words with "&" are translated with: &
Could you maybe help me there?
Regards
Niklas
Nice native app. The biggest pitfall and the reason why we are writing this review is that "...up to two languages for free..." in the app description actually means "...up to two languages, doesn't matter if you're willing to pay or not..."
Would be greatly appreciated to have the ability to auto-translate in more than 2 languages.
Together with Shopify Markets this app could be a 10/5 stars. Unfortunately, it's not possible to translate more than 2 languages automatically, which is a big bugger to us since we want to do a Europe wide rollout with our shop. We would be willing to pay for every additional language, for sure, but even this is not yet possible. Is there a date when this super important feature will be released? As soon as this is possible, we'll increase our rating for sure!

Translated products will feed into Google Merchant Center even if the language has not been published. So be careful when installing this app on your store as it can mess up your integration with Google Merchant Center severely while you work on the translations.
I think the result of auto-translation is quite acceptable. But not having the option to select multiple or all products to translate at once is painful, especially when you have 100+ products to translate into more than 1 languages..
And also not sure what happens when a product description or any content is updated?
Hi there, thanks for trying out the app. Stores can be translated entirely in one go, and unedited auto-translations will update if the default content is updated.

Impossible to translate policies, and no way of knowing why... Where can I get help with this?
Good translation though
Thank you for the feedback. Legal policies can be manually translated in Translate & Adapt. If you currently don't have any policy it will not appear in the app because there is nothing to translate. If you do have even one policy all the policies will appear in Translate & Adapt.
We do not auto translate policies because they are a legal document and auto translating it might create legal issues. This is one area where we recommend to translate with a professional who can cater the translation and policy to the market and type of products you sell.
It seems to use google translate which created odd translations. I am selling clothes and it would consistently change "flat" to "apartment" in other languages. Obviously that is not what I meant. So it works but still needs a lot of double checking.
Sadly you can primarily choose to translate everything, which , when I tested it, changed all my manual adjustments. The support team tried to help in this matter, and confirmed that this is not the usual, but I did have issues with needing to retranslate things.
However a fix around was deleting fields to a blank in the translation and that no longer got translated. But it was not the greatest solution for me.
Since the google translation didnt work great for me, i ended up making a lot manual and after a while gave up. I am sure if you have easier content, easier understandable for google, it might be useful. Also the support is great proactive in trying to help.
Add-on: because of those difficulties, I disabled now the translate app. But now the entire page reflects in that weird translated german even though my default language is English! I reached out to the support and they explained that when you use any translation app, that your translation gets saved in your shopify store. So my only fix was talking to shopify who helped me to take it down again (however, this took 2 days until it was fixed. Not great when the language is so wrong translated)
