Good app, interesting to have the store translated immediately. Good customer service when you are an active user. But with an important problem: If you do a lot of dynamic translation, it slows down the page speed a lot without any other solution from the technical support than to delete dynamic translation requests. That has been the main reason for me to switch to another app taking advantage of the change of my store from Debut to Dawn theme and the launch of Markets in Shopify 2.0. The main task: I had to go from a subdomain using Weglot es.xxx.com to a subdirectory using Shopify xxx.com/es (with the entire store translated again with Translation Lab) and that means, if it is not done correctly, a shower of 404 errors apart from the loss in SEO positioning for the same reason. That meant looking for a solution to do 301 redirects because in my case I was never going to use the es.xxx.com subdomain again. It was just then that Weglot tech support told me they couldn't help anymore... I can come to understand it if you're going to abandon them. I found the solution in the Shopify community: Before deleting anything, you have to register a hosting with SSL with the es.xxx.com subdomain and redirect from there. This app is simple to use and translation result is good. I supposed for less technical person like myself who want to start an online business. The support team from the app played a critical role. I struggled at the beginning. Thanks to the help of Alexis from Weglot support team, it worked out fine. Thank you, Alexis.
I have been using this app for a while and now I will be uninstalling it. It basically doesn't work well and it translates only partially. It also adds strange characters to the translation lists, increasing your word count so that you have to upgrade to a bigger plan. Customer support doesn't respond to any support requests.
UPDATE: I have received an email from Karina which blames me for not being happy with the app and leaving a bad review. She says, and I quote, "I wanted to know why you did not contact us directly and instead left this review?" So there is nothing wrong with the app and I have to be happy with it. Also, she chases me only 6 hours later saying "I wanted to follow up on the below message and see if you remove the review." Karina, I had contacted you twice through the webchat on the app, that's why. Your approach to feedback has been really terrible.
We are sorry you feel this way but asking you to contact us if you are having issues is not in any way blaming you. It is normal to ask a user to contact us if they do not understand certain aspects of how our app functions instead of leaving a negative review on issues that are actually fixable. -We have responded to all your messages; the last one being in December. There were NO unanswered messages from our team.
-The reason your site is not translating completely is that you are over the limit of your plan and not the app not functioning.
-Can you give me an example of strange characters?
Also, we do not have some mechanism that randomly adds characters to your site to scam you. We are a reputable company and wish to remain that way. We translate everything that is in your source code.

I tried literally all the translation apps out there, but they were either too expensive or lacking of the specific needs of my store. Weglot Translate was winner: flexibility, easy to use, and an EXCELLENT customer service!

Very useful service if you are looking for good quality translations on your website. It's very flexible and even allows you to manually translate words and sentences. I also reached out to Weglot to customise my language button switcher. Albane from Weglot got in touch with me and was able to help me a lot and get exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend Weglot!
