This app started sending non-branded, incorrect product review requests to our customers without our permission. It continued sending out emails even after we uninstalled it.

So i added a widget to my website to see what it would look like and now there is no turn off button so it is stuck on my website.

Very bad! The website says you can edit simple things within your brand kit and it will display those changes across email and on-site widgets. Until you try and then they say you need to upgrade to the most expensive plan to make the changes because those aren't included despite what the clear verbiage says. They do not want to help you, just upsell you.
The worst customer service. Downloaded this app and uninstalling it just as fast as I did because of the crappy support I just got from Joian Z. You need to do better. Loox works just as fine even better and cheaper. Your prices are not cheap and to get such unhelpful support is a shame.

Junk software, and contacting customer support is not helpful at all, data syncing is a waste of time!!! Do not use!! !!

This is advertised as a plug and play. It is anything but. I have had nothing but issues and now support is nonexistent. I have opened at least 5 tickets (hard to really know since one never receives a confirmation email and the support button on the site is almost impossible to use) with no one ever getting back to me. Meanwhile, my site looks terrible because product photos don't load in yotpo widgets. Meanwhile Yotpo has billed me for a year. I would not recommend this site at all.Anyway, the customer service and app works well. I'm very pleased with it.

Turns out the tab on the landing page doesn't show up on a mobile version. If I had known that from the start, I could have saved a lot of time but at least I know it is working now.
2.13.15--Yet another update. Realize this app does not work on mobile devices although I have a responsive design. As usual the support people take no accountability for the poor functioning of this app. They claim it works on their phones so it must be my issue. Of course, the other app I use loads on mobile devices and I've tried 5 phones and this app doesn't show up. I'm sure it will take another 2.5+ months to get this resolved. This company and its app is the most frustrating company I've used. Can't believe how much time and frustration I have invested in this thing.
1.17.15--I'm updating my reivew from my previous one below. It took about 2 months to get this app actually working on my site BUT now that it is, it is great. We are starting to see reviews come in (far more than we had without actively seeking reviews from customers and I can see that it will help us get and keep momentum with our new store launch. As such I am changing my review from 1 to 3 stars. I can't give a 5 because it took too darn long to get this working. Guy from Yotpo did hang in there and finally get it working. So, I'm thankful for that!

It seems pretty clear to me that YOTPO is systematically removing all low ratings because my experience can no way be an isolated case--it's been darn right dreadful. I have tried for over a month to get this app to work properly and it still doesn't. First, the app wouldn't work and they inform me that I have outdated code and asked me where I got it. OFF THEIR SITE. They then apologize and remove the old code. Since that time, I have tried to update this countless numbers of times but nothing will make this work correctly. Nothing is an emergency at Yotpo. Send them access (because of course there must be something or someone to blame other than them for having a nonfunctioning app) and they tell me they didn't receive the invite. I send it again AND nothing, I have heard nothing for over 24 hours. Now, they tell me they still haven't received the invite. Must be something on Shopfiy's end because it couldn't possibly be on YOTPO's end. Enough is enough. Watch how fast this 1 star rating is removed. Shopify needs to do a much better job of managing the apps they make available. This is totally unacceptable. Some of us are actually trying to run a business and care about customer service and FEEDBACK.
The app works fine, but the tiering model is terrible. If you upgrade from the free, it's just not affordable for a small business order. Additionally, their support staff is incompetent, nasty and very aggressive. They still call me once a week to upgrade, without even answering my support questions. Some of these support issues are weeks old lol. I still have a few inquiries out that have been completely ignored. I do not recommend this app!
I have been with Yotpo since 2015. I am disappointed to find Yotpo doesn't compare well with reviews.io, they offer a more comprehensive package for a cheaper price. i.e custom questions, customer images and Google rich snippets. I tried contacting support but a robotic support agent didn't reassure me.
Don't be inticed by their free plan or low priced plan. The moment you will have more sales , you are in trouble with yotpo. We were early yotpo clients for almost 4 years. Then they decided to raise their prices x10 and they removed us from their plan without any hesitation. They didn't grandfather our plan , just removed our plan and offered to pay $800 for the same functionality we had for $35. There are very good alternatives here for reviews. Don't use them.
