The app is robust - a bit tricky to navigate on your own BUT the customer service is phenomenal and they will walk you through how to setup and troubleshoot to resolve your issues every time you ask!

We use BTA in our shopify site to manage class enrollment and events. The tutorials section in the help center is very detailed and makes the program easy to use. When I can't find what I am looking for there, the customer service team is very quick to respond with helpful advice and offers comprehensive solutions.

Unethical Pricing and Locked Account Access
I used this app for over two years on the $29 plan. When my plan expired, I was told I’d have to pay $49 for the exact same plan, a steep and unfair increase. What’s worse, I was locked out of my own account and data unless I paid the higher amount.
Support repeatedly asked me to confirm deletions I couldn’t even see, leaving me unable to access or retrieve my information. This experience felt unprofessional, manipulative, and deeply disappointing.
I would not recommend this app to anyone. If you value fair treatment and data access, stay away. Once your plan ends, you risk being completely locked out of your account.
Thanks for your review. Unfortunately, since you manually ended your previous subscription for a legacy plan, you were prompted to select from our current plans. As with most apps, we do not provide the option to select from legacy plans. This is why you were required to choose from a current plan.
You then chose to select a lower-tier plan, which did require the removal of some items you previously configured on the higher-tier plan. I apologize that our Customer Success team was unable to satisfactorily guide you through the required updates. If you decide to continue using the app, we will be happy to help get your store back on track so that you can use one of our current subscriptions.
I've been using this app with Shopify for almost 10 years, and I love it. The customer service is the best. They are so patient and work me through even the most basic stuff to make my booking system work well for my students. I've never had a bad experience with their customer service team. Shout out D'Angelo!

2025 EDIT: I've been using BookThat for more than six years. We currently have a waitlist issue that I've gone back and forth with support for more than 3 weeks. This app is crucial to my business, and I'm spending way too much time re-re-explaining the issue to tech support.
I also feel that the apps appearance in my theme is sloppy and amateurish. It's like you're on a nice website, then you go to register or waitlist for a class and you're in an archaic interface. Seems like for what I pay, the app could look a little more streamlined.
Edit: The following issue from 2018 has been fixed. My experience in recent years has been positive. Thank you BookThat!
If your product has a capacity limit, be warned: there is an integration issue between Book That and Shopify that has yet to be resolved. Therefore, if your customer leaves their class/tour in their cart or if they respond to an abandoned cart email, they will be able to purchase the class/tour--even if it's sold out. Further, those bookings will not appear on your run sheet "roster." We've had several very dicey and embarrassing moments when classes overfilled, catching us off guard and making us look very amateurish. We teach cooking classes, so not having enough ingredients for paying customers is an epic fail. I am not alone in this experience. Read through these reviews, and you'll read about other companies with overbooked tours and classes.
Of course, you can manually monitor your Shopify sales and compare them against your Book That bookings, but I don't feel I should have to go through this added layer of effort--it's the reason why I pay for the app.
Book That is aware of the issue and is currently unable to rectify the problem as they are unable to access the code. We have paid two different third party developers to help us with this issue and our current workaround is: 1) adding a cart timer and 2) directing abandoned cart emails to the product versus the cart. Neither are fixes nor make for a positive customer experience.
For a booking app that works with Shopify, this is our only option. Once Shopify and Book That work out this issue, this will be a five-star product.

We use the various BTA widgets to manage the sale of classes, courses, hiring equipment and setting appointments. It's all fairly simple to set up, and if you've got any questions the support people like Sisco are very good at solving any problems.
