Hi - we started using Shopify inbox as we wanted a chat option with our customers. It works well, a lot of the replies are delivered by email rather than on the chat, and this is because we have missed the notification and the customer has moved off the site and is no longer online.
Notifications are not send to the mail address that has shopify open, which means we often miss that a message has arrived. PCs can chime a lot especially when your phone is connected to the PC like mine is. I would like more control over the notifications to push a notification to an email address, regardless of whether that email address is currently logged into Shopify. Overall though it is a good app

wonderful, the Shopify chat tool is a great one-way tool for keeping in touch with customers. So I highly recommend this tool

I like the app the only thing that made me give it three stars is everytime i log in it state we were unable to authenticate you you must confirm your account before logging in. So fustrating.

efficient. nice tool. could do with being able to make paragraph breaks in replies to make info clearer for customers

I have had this app installed about a month and so far it works good. Notifies me when a customer sends a message and hasn't crashed. So far I have been very happy with it.

I already had a "Contact Me" link on my site.
Since adding the live chat, customer interaction has gone up considerably.
Many have resulted in immediate sales.

The app has been a big help to us so far in terms of liaising with customers and providing quick answers to people without our input. There are a few things needing to be ironed out, but overall we like it a lot and look forward to seeing improvements. A few issues to note:
* Notifications on iPhone never go away, so it always looks like there's a message to respond to (red number on the app icon).
* Syncing between users and devices seems a bit buggy (conversations closed or assigned in one place don't seem to appear that way elsewhere).
* We are getting a lot of spam messages come in via Instagram especially and it would be good to have a way to block or filter them rather than wasting time on them.
* It would be good to be able to style the chat button via CSS more so than we can now.
* Being able to hide the chat button on certain pages more easily would be great.

Regarding blocking spam customers - you are actually able to do this within the app now! You may need to update the app or your device in order for this to show up. You send out a recommendation but dont advise upfront it needs iOS to work, pity when Samsung users cant use so why not let merchants know before installing, this is a let down and should be part of the intro email

Update: We are happy to report that the Android version of Ping is coming very soon, so Android users can take advantage of Shopify Chat. You can sign up to be notified when it's available: https://www.shopify.com/ping. Just enter your email address and click "Join Waitlist".

I am moving my shop from etsy, so I had high expectations of the messaging capabilities - Shopify inbox has exceeded every expectation I had! I would absolutely recommend the app to anyone, and I love it so much more than anything I've used thus far to speak with customers on!
