I recently tried using Shopify Inbox, but unfortunately, my experience with the app was terrible. The app has potential to be useful for managing customer messages, but the frequent spam messages from Nigeria made it nearly impossible to use effectively.
I reached out to tech support multiple times for a resolution, but was disappointed to learn that there was no solution available. The only options I was given were to uninstall the app, block the spam messages, or go to another website that's not on Shopify.
In addition to the spam messages, I also noticed that the app significantly slowed down my website, which further impacted my customer experience.
Overall, I cannot recommend using Shopify Inbox due to these issues. Until these problems are addressed, I would advise anyone to steer clear of this app.

At this time, there is no way to block folk from sending you a message, but you can block a user once they've contacted you by clicking the ! in the top right corner. This will prevent this person from reaching out to you any further. While not a complete solution, we hope you take advantage of this feature. Really slow, as others have said, and notifications of customer messages only come sporadically. I can check the inbox and clean everything out, then five minutes later check again and there will be a message a customer supposedly left hours ago. What the ---? That creates terrible customer service. I also can't figure out how to link a product into the message, even though the app store description says it can be done "easily." Like so many other "great ideas" Shopify has had lately, it seems hastily put together with little beta testing by actual users before release. (Shopify email ring a bell?)

In terms of linking products to the messages you're sending, you can do this by clicking on the product tag icon in the app: https://screenshot.click/05-13-39845-6940.png. Clicking on this will allow you to search for products in your store and link them to the message you're sending. Works great! Finally! A very useful feature from Shopify that makes life so much easier. Still needs a create order function while directly messaging customers, and to be able to send a checkout link in the chat to a customer without really leaving the window would be very good. I look forward to more of these updates from Shopify! Thanks!

This app is great! It allows consistent communication with your customers and it's easy to use. I only wish it would send customer's message to my email when I'm not available.
So glad to hear you're enjoying the app! If you receive a message from your customers when you are logged out of Shopify, you should be receiving an email notification by default. This would be sent to all staff members with Inbox permissions, so I'd recommend double checking those settings if you aren't receiving the emails. It is nice app to use, I wished it had more options such as multi-image attachment or files during the chat, also you should ad a search box to find the products from our website and suggest certain products out of our catalog to the customer right there and then otherwise we have scroll up and down thousands times to find one product. also the title of the subject line is cut half way so we do not know what products the customer is inquiring about and there should be a link to the product to our website in case we need to check details of the products with customer.

THe app itself is very good but it's switching off so often that I can't say it is in usable state... I'm tired in reinstalling the app and checking everyday if it's working or not.... I will give you a tip - I'm almost 100% sure it's happening due to updates on your side, you need set some king of automation that will trigger every few hours switching on if you can't solve the problem
