So far not a good experience. I will leave this review on until the issue is fixed. We have an e-commerce platform in CZ and the issue is that our customers get auto-replies and e-mails from Judge.me in Russian or Croatian language instead of Czech. I have already sent a ticket 2 times and so far no fix. Sadly, this makes our store look fraudulant. Thankfully, we are on the free version for now but I doubt that an upgrade would work if the codes are full of bugs in the trial version.

Thank you for raising this, you’re absolutely right that language accuracy is critical, especially for customer-facing emails. We sincerely apologise for the incorrect language appearing in Czech stores. That should not happen.

We have identified the issue in the Czech translation layer and have already implemented grammar corrections in the reply notification email. We are also reviewing the handling of reviewer names in subject lines, particularly considering Czech vocative rules, to ensure the wording is linguistically correct and natural.

We truly appreciate your detailed feedback and corrections, it has helped us improve the translations properly rather than applying a temporary workaround. Our goal is to fix this permanently at the system level so it does not require additional troubleshooting on your side.

I have been trying out your product to see if I wanted to buy a premium paid version. I just hand wrote 40 emails to existing customers asking for reviews.

I used the link invitation that goes to my own website as it's higher trust for my customers.

A few of them have just reported the link doesn't work. I've tried it and it doesn't consistently for me either. I have lost the chance of good reviews and look incompetent in front of my customers. I'd like you to fix this or I'll go to another app.

Your own internal submit review button doesn't work. Absurd!!!

In some situations, reviews submitted directly through the storefront widget require an additional verification step (and older orders placed before the app was installed may need manual matching), and we’re working with you to get those reviews properly verified.

Merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire! Nous comprenons tout à fait votre point de vue, et nous voulions simplement préciser que le changement de couleur des étoiles est bien disponible dans le plan Gratuit.

Vous pouvez modifier la couleur via Paramètres > Marquage > Couleur principale, et cette couleur s’appliquera automatiquement aux étoiles ainsi qu’à d’autres éléments pour garder une identité visuelle cohérente.

Nous avons déjà partagé plus de détails avec vous en privé et restons à votre disposition pour vous aider à ajuster les widgets selon vos préférences. Merci encore pour votre avis.

We have been using the App (paid plan) for months now. Functionality and front end are okay, but the backend literally is unusable due to constant pop ups and spam.

Sad to say, but we'll consider moving on.

Judge.me Product Reviews App – 1 Year User Experience

Pros:

We have been using this app for over a year; its design and ease of use are great.

The app structure and live support are very good; they respond quickly and help efficiently.

Cons:

We have been using the app for over a year and switched to the paid version 1 month ago. Unfortunately, it has been disappointing: despite having many orders, we have not received a single review. Paying for the paid version doesn’t make much sense for us.

Because no reviews were coming in, we reached out for support. Tasnim helped us, thank you. She checked our system and website, confirming everything is set up correctly. However, we still haven’t received an answer to our main question: why aren’t we getting reviews? In our opinion, there is an issue with the app. Is it normal that not a single customer leaves a review among so many orders, even though we offer gifts for every review? Now that all conditions are perfect, why are no reviews coming in?

Other features in the paid version seem useless to us; we haven’t seen any benefit so far. The difference between free and paid versions, based on our observation, is negligible. We will continue to try for another month, but we are not sure this app is the right solution for us.

Note:
We are unsure; we will continue testing for another month. If we still do not see results or receive reviews, we are considering canceling the paid version as it would be an unnecessary expense. Everything is set up perfectly on our side, but the app doesn’t seem to deliver the main purpose.

We will update this review after another month of experience. Wishing everyone great sales!

The app works well, and we’ve had helpful agents in the past. But after a recent support request to fix a display issue with review stars, the Judge.me team made theme changes that created duplicate elements on our product pages. When we reached out for help, support flat-out denied touching the theme:

“We haven’t made any changes to your theme code.”

“This falls outside of our scope of support.”

“We recommend you contact Shopify support.”

These statements were repeated over and over—even though the changes had been made by another Judge.me agent two weeks earlier, which we had to prove with a chat transcript. Only after escalation did their advanced team step in... and break our live product template entirely, removing titles, descriptions, and buy buttons.

We run a high-AOV business and spend heavily on ads. Losing product functionality for seven hours during peak traffic is not something a $45 refund fixes. We also asked to speak with a supervisor multiple times and were refused.

A senior agent eventually apologized and promised internal changes, but the damage was already done. If you're running a store where uptime and reliability matter, be careful: Judge.me support will edit your live theme code, and if things go wrong, you may be left without real help when you need it most.

Not great. not user friendly and helpful with styling. not clear on where the rating can appear and how to do so. the important stuff to a store. y'all feel like a tech company vs human company.

We are downgrading our review from 5 stars to 2 stars after several years of use, as this rating now better reflects our overall experience with Judge.me.

Judge.me is clearly built with good intentions. The interface is clean, the app is easy to use, and customer support is responsive, human, and available 7 days a week. On that front, nothing to say — the team genuinely tries to help within the limits of how the product is designed.

However, we are now facing a much more serious concern:
we are starting to doubt Judge.me’s ability to reliably fulfill its primary purpose — collecting reviews.

We have a significant number of POS sales, with real human interactions and customers who are genuinely willing to leave reviews. Even accounting for the usual delay between a purchase and a review, the gap we are seeing is far too large to be considered normal. At this point, we are no longer talking about optimization — but about trust in the system.

A reminder system that works against review collection

The core issue is the reminder logic.

Reminders are not sent if the initial review request email is not opened.
This rule is:
• counter-intuitive,
• poorly documented during setup,
• and discovered only after investing a lot of time configuring reminders.

In real-world scenarios — especially with POS customers — many people:
• see the subject line but don’t have time to open,
• miss the email entirely,
• or intend to come back later.

These are precisely the cases where reminders are most useful.
Instead, the system prioritizes reminding people who already opened the email and chose not to act — which statistically makes far less sense.

The result: a carefully configured reminder system that simply doesn’t trigger in many real-life situations, leading to an artificially low review rate.

Needing to rely on an external tool like Klaviyo only to compensate for this design choice is not a reasonable solution. At that point, it may be more efficient to invest in another review app altogether.

Growing concerns, not an isolated case

After investigating further, we realized that we are not alone in experiencing unusually low review rates despite having many orders and correct setups. This reinforces our concern that this is not just a configuration issue, but a product design problem.

Additional issues
• The “All Reviews” page significantly hurts performance, especially on mobile, with poor LCP, TBT and CLS scores — which is a real SEO and Core Web Vitals issue.
• There is still no way to create dynamic collections based on:
• most-reviewed products,
• best-rated products,
• or recently reviewed products.
• Custom questions are displayed raw and often dominate the visual space, while written reviews — which require real effort from customers — become secondary. Summarized insights (e.g. “99% of customers were satisfied”) would be far more useful and less intrusive.

Final thoughts

Judge.me remains a well-intentioned app with strong support, but good intentions and nice UI are not enough if the review collection mechanism itself is flawed or overly restrictive.

For a review app, collecting reviews is not a secondary feature — it is the product.
Right now, too many key decisions work against that goal, and that’s why we can no longer confidently recommend it as a reliable long-term solution.
