When a new order comes in, Order Automator compares your settings and takes action on the order. You can bulk process old orders and choose different events. You can also set monitoring actions, for example cancel high risk orders, notify staff of a refund or if an order is X days old and unfulfilled, etc. We're always adding more features + create customizations on request.

Excellent plugin with a lot of uses cases.
I have used it for several different notifications in my business:
-notify manual dropship vendor when an order is placed so they can fulfill (it uploads tracking info back to Shopify too)
-alert us when someone who has issued a chargeback in the past places another order so we can deal with it
-alert us when someone uses a PO Box so we can ensure the weight of the order is within USPS parameters
-auto cancel high fraud flagged orders
Customer service has been ultra responsive 100% of the time.
Nothing at all bad to say about this plugin, it is WELL worth the small price.

Great app plus great support. We use this app to route orders to Amazon but there is so much more it can do. Do you ship from multiple locations? It can help there. Problem customers? Send them to a black list!
