This app has the potential to be excellent, if only it was able to provide a returns service with courier integration in the UK.

Having installed the app and received support in doing so, we thought we had at last found a returns app that would do what it claimed i.e provide an easy and seamless returns process. Unfortunately it is totally geared to a US market and has little to no courier integrations for UK merchants. The only one offered was SendCloud, an app requiring a monthly subscription fee with varying levels (the cheapest being £23 per month for the minimum subscription), plus charges per label. Integration with UK couriers would prevent the need for unnecessary app charges (crucial for small businesses). Integration with Royal Mail or Evri, the two biggest mail providers in the UK would not be an unreasonable ask for UK merchants when you are offering the app to them. Even integration with Shopify's own courier service would be great.

On messaging Parcel Send they stated you could request alternative courier integrations and provided a link to do so. Unfortunately the link takes you on a circular journey to set up a google gmail account in order to request alternatives and if you don’t have one you are not able to. We, like the vast majority of other professional businesses, don't use google gmail and have no intention of doing so. We then had a message conversation with customer support and three times over two conversations requested alternative couriers for the UK. They did state they would pass this on to their development team so we wait with bated breath to see.

A few days after installing the app a customer return request was received, which is when we discovered the above (no couriers for customers to return parcels in the UK). So our customer was stuck in the app with nowhere to go! We could not approve the return request to provide a returns label to the customer as it required a courier to be chosen and, as we have said many times above, Parcel Send do not offer this for UK merchants.

We again contacted customer support about the customer stuck in the app that could not be approved and after a lengthy conversation and being told to set up a subscription charge with cloudsend, it was clear that the advisor did not know what to do either. We explained we had already mentioned the issue about no couriers a few days ago and was informed a response had been sent to us (we have checked junk and all emails, nothing received). Our only solution is to manually do the return, but this means having to uncheck the box to provide a returns label to the customer and now ask them to sort out the label and return themselves (not exactly what we, or our customers, would expect from a professional online returns portal).

So, the bottom line is... the app is great if you’re not in the UK. If you are, look for another app as you will be bitterly disappointed and frustrated that your seamless and easy returns process turns out to be anything but! If Parcel Send get their act together on UK courier integrations, I would definitely recommend them and be happy to use them again. I feel they have left me with no option but to find an alternative app that can actually deliver what it is set up for within the UK.

Easy set up and very fast response from support/cs chat box. Yes, it may be a bot but it's very accurate in responding to my specific question.

Okay, 2 words to describe this app: SIMPLY AMAZING

I took time to work with the app to setup all the point before leaving my review. This app is just wonderfull, and the customers service is fast, so fast. I recommend to every e-commerce store on shopify to use the app to setup their returns. You will love it.

A special thanks to Donna for her quick help every time I have a question.

DO NOT USE THIS APP!!!

We set up our account to REFUND TO STORE CREDIT - yet unexpected amounts were coming out of our Shopify account without our approval. After looking into where our money was going this app was refunding all payments to customers lodging a return EVEN before the goods were returned from customers.

$7800 was refunded without our consent and furthermore these returns were not shipped back to us from the customer as the refund was issued directly upon approval for the return to me made by the customer. So all in all I have lost my sales + my stock which I can't ensure will be shipped back to me as the refund was made prior to goods being returned and inspected!! WHAT A JOKE OF AN APP!!

1. First and foremost, our app operates under the strict policy of never initiating refunds to customers without explicit authorization from the merchant. We do not have the capability to process refunds without your consent.

2. Regarding the "refund to store credit" setting in the app, rest assured that this instruction is being followed diligently. However, it's important to note that store credit is generated only after the returned goods are received and the refund is completedly initiated through our app. Until then, no store credit is generated, which explains why you haven't found any related records in your Shopify account.

3. The amounts you mentioned are derived from the Shopify Sales report. We recommend a thorough understanding of the logic and interpretation of the sales report. Returns in Shopify refer to a specific concept, and it's crucial to differentiate between returns and refunds. The figures you see in the sales report represent returns, not refunds.

A return is where goods pass from the customer back to you after the customer has bought the goods but decided not to keep them. A return is different from a refund because a return deals with the value of goods, but a refund deals with the value of tender that you issue the customer when you process a return. Sales appear in your sales reports as a positive value for the day that they were made, and returns appear as a negative value for the day that they were processed. The sales reports include sales and returns from open, archived, canceled, and pending orders, as well as draft orders that have been converted into orders.

4. We have previously explained that orders marked as "return in progress" in Shopify are not refunded. However, the value of these pending returns is deducted from your sales report, as per Shopify's standard practice.

5. Upon receiving your feedback, our team has been actively engaging with Shopify Support to investigate the matter. We can confirm that our app does not engage in unauthorized refunding to customers without merchant consent.

6. While we maintain that there was no wrongdoing on our part, we acknowledge that there is always room for improvement. This incident has highlighted areas where our app can enhance the clarity and functionality of different return solutions on Shopify platform and we have done the improvement within day.

I commend Dee for helping me with returns, from policies, to adding branding to my store. This has been nothing but a wonderful app and customer support from Parcel Panel!
