I tried again because of all of the great reviews. I sent a newsletter to about 200 contacts. I tested the mail send to myself clicked all the links NO PROBLEM! Then when I send the mail I get a bunch of responses saying the links take them to a broken web site because the email is marked as a spam sender. I messaged Privy and they said they recommend changing the auto sender address which I didn't see anywhere as an option to my personal email instead of theres. I look like an idiot in front of 200 people now. The solution is next time change the sender. TELL ME THAT BEFORE. Why oh why does this service suck so bad :( This app worked well for a few months. When my free trial ended (wasn't aware it was a trial or it would end) I wasn't notified. This app is about notifying people and THEY DIDN'T NOTIFY ME! I had over 1500 visitors to my website in one week and checked to see why I wasn't getting their emails and this poor company didn't send me a pop up email or sms to tell me I need to now pay for the service, which I would have done. Crazy right. There are other services out there don't make the same mistake I did. After telling them this happened they said nothing we can do would you like to pay for the upgrade. Not great customer service.
So far, pretty bad. How you gonna force someone to review your app before you even allow them to complete the tutorial?! how am I supposed to know if i like it yet?
The customer support behind this business is shity. I submitted a Complaint and someone reached out to me Via email one time and never responded to me again. I even explained early on how I wanted to cancel my subscription and downgrade back to the free account because the paid account is not worth the extra money. A few weeks later (still no reply from the original agent who reached out or anyone else from privy) they still charged my card. DO NOT pay for a subscription it is a complete waist of money.

I used this app for almost two years, so I definitely gave it my best shot. Unfortunately this app gave me nothing but a headache for the past two years. The customer service wasn’t helpful at all, now when I have finally unsubscribed from this app, now customer service wants to talk to me.... absolutely ridiculous. Side note: the customization is terrible and the abandoned carts don’t work. Tried getting help with that for a year. Save your money and a headache. Wish I did.
You do not ask for a review when you have not let the user try the app first for some time. For that reason I give you one start. As I do not know if is going to serve my needs.
The new pricing of this App is ridiculous considering I don't use it for email campaigns. Going from a FREE app to being $70 a month based on PAGE VIEWS alone?! Ridiculous. Uninstalling and finding a different App. Now they'll get new customers who will pay the outlandish fees because of the high ratings from customers who used the App when it was free. Really poor, extortionist practices. I am so unimpressed. I was willing to go to a paid plan, thinking it would be 5, maybe 10 dollars a month. Nope. Absolutely not worth the 70-200% markup they're now charging customers.
I've been using Privy for almost a year and I am so frustrated by the app and their customer service. When I went to cancel I lost access to my account immediately even though I paid for the month. They said this information is clearly stated in their help articles when really it should be stated when you go to cancel your account And the right thing to do would be to prorate a refund depending on when the customer cancels...
In terms of the capability of the app its 100% not worth the price. There are so many bugs and the capabilities are lacking. For $200/month I'd rather pay for Klaviyo to have access to better features and better customer service. Honestly, I would never use Privy again nor would I recommend other businesses use it.
Not satisfied with the service and customer support. Lack of customer centricity and awareness that they are here to help us, not vice versa.
The pop-up is pretty good however I would advise people to stay away from this company due to their absolutely shocking customer service and the risk of losing money as I have
I had been using Privy for a while and then one day the checkout cart on my site completely stopped working and I receiving a number of emails from potential customers saying they couldn't place an order.
After speaking to my theme developer, he managed to pin point the problem was the Privy javascript was causing the error
So I uninstalled privy....to no effect. There was still Privy javascript preventing the cart from working
I then tried reinstalling my theme completely fresh.....still Privy javascript preventing the cart from working
I then contacted Privy, desperate for them to help fix the problem so my customers could start placing orders.
2 DAYS LATER, all of this time my site has been dead, they got back to me to say they have found the problem I have described and they will raise it with their engineers to fix
I kept emailing them for some sort of time frame or some help on at least a temporary fix in the meantime but they didn't respond
Another 2 days later, 96 HOURS AFTER THE PROBLEM WAS FIRST FOUND, and still no sales to my store, Privy got back to me to say that "they don't debug javascript conflicts" and I would have to find help elsewhere
So they took 4 days to tell me that, yes they had in fact completely messed up my store but no they weren't going to do anything about it.
I have never known such terrible customer service
5-Stars when it was free. Now, as others have indicated, it's REALLY expensive per month based on our page views. We're off to find another more reasonable option.
