I will review once I have it up and running. Kind of silly to ask for a review during the setup process, don't you think? I resent the popup not accepting this review and assume it is because it was too short. Okay, that wasn't it at all. Perhaps you don't allow one star reviews???
Totally understand. As you get started, feel free to reach out to us for help at support@privy.com or check out our help docs at https://help.privy.com
I am sorry but if you are going to ask me for a review a couple of minutes after I have signed up, struggling to even figure out how you make a design and when I finally do, I am told to upgrade then I will give it a one-star rating. Totally wasted minutes. A lot of people keep saying Sumo does the same on their free plan but they have got a lot of flexibility with their templates. I am sorry privy, you will have to do better.
just started ill update my review when i see real results
still testing, how can I know this is good ?
Stop spam me with "go rate us " notification.
Thank you
I just download the app, so I can't give an honest review at this point.
TL;DR -- this app is awful compared to JustUno or OptiMonk. But much worse, they are incredibly unethical in their business practices. I would hope that Shopify would police this sort of BLATANT unethical activity on apps in their store...
BEWARE! I started a trial of this software ~18 months ago. I deleted the app before the trial was over.
I have come to find out that, depsite deleting the app AND submitting a ticket to their support, they CONTINUE to charge me $79/month every month.
As support will do nothing, unfortunately I have to go the route of a credit-card chargeback. Very unethical, Privy...
BEWARE -- THIS APP IS BILLED OUTSIDE OF THE APP STORE ECOSYSTEM, AND THEY WILL CONTINUE TO CHARGE YOU LONG AFTER YOU HAVE DELETED THE APP. (also, they will charge you at a rate higher than any plan they have listed...)
When I informed support, they could indeed see that
1) I had uninstalled during trial (18 months ago),
2) I was on a trial of a $20/month plan
3) They have been charging me $79 month every month, and continue to do so after this has been brought up to support.
This is clearly unethical and illegal. Fortunately I have recourse through my credit card, but it is sad that a company of Privy's size would resort to such blatantly unethical behavior.
I could have chalked it up to an honest mistake, but no...they continue to charge me even after I have pointed it out. (I literally don't even have a login....I deleted the trial during the trial phase....) No joke -- they tell me the only way to cancel is to login. They CONTINUE to charge me. I do not have a login (never have... I went through the app store to login back when I was trialing them in 2018....)
I do hope Privy decides to do the right thing before I have to go through the credit card. I hate to say such nasty things about a business, but this behavior is simply unethical. Truly, I hope you recognize your error and rectify it immediately...while it is sad that it will have taken a review to finally get any action, it is better than nothing....
Just downloaded this last night and it is fairly simple to use however I keep sending myself a test email with a sign up code and each time after a few seconds a message pops up saying "This message no longer exists" and disappears from my Inbox. If this happened to my customers I would be furious and they would lose confidence in my brand. It would do the opposite to what it is supposed to achieve.
I do not recommend and certainly would not pay to upgrade.
For some reason, I am even having difficulty leaving this feedback. the same window keeps popping up. Why is that?
This app doesn't work with anything, not MailChimp, not Zapier, not Sendlane. I don't know but it seems every video I see says there should be a checkbox which triggers the Welcome Email from MailChimp. It seems to that since they replaced it with their own email autoresponder, the user is compelled to use that at the cost of $10/month. I've tried with Sendlane too, and still nothing. I've reached out to support, but no one answers. I'm particularly sad about this because it was recommended to me by someone I really trust in this industry, and it didn't meet my expectation.
Forcing reviews too much in app, very annoying.
It’s really a great email pop up. Looks great and works. So why rate it so low? Because although it says there is a free plan and it goes by your page views that isn’t the case. It’s not what you think. They have their own page view counter which they use to determine your rate. I had according to them 22,000 + views. WOW! I wish. Right now it’s just me testing things and as much as I check I’m not looking that much. My Shopify views and google views show 32 visitors this week. Vast difference. Even if I was going to upgrade based on their false data the monthly price is just too much for a pop up especially being held hostage by their own counter. I am looking for something else. I would suggest you do the same unless scam counters are your “thing”.
