QUICKBOOKS SYNC by BOLD

At the end of the year, we exported all of the information from QuickBooks and compared it to the orders in Shopify.

Out of 1,629 orders for the 12-month period, 183 of the orders were missing (11%).

Of all the orders, several of them were "multiple line item" orders, where the customer purchased two separate items in the same order. For a number of those orders, only the first line item was present, creating yet another accounting clean up.

The app does not provide the costs of the transaction for payment processing (i.e. payment processing fees from Stripe, Paypal, Shopify, etc), and at the end of any financial period all of the revenue and fees need to be reconciled.

This app restricts the access to income accounts, expense accounts, and balance sheet accounts such that new accounts had to be created in order to be able to comply with the limits.

We used this app from 2015 to 2024. Over time, we began to understand the accounting side as well as the issues with the app. From our experience with it, we have not seen any improvement in the Application or the UI since 2015, and this is September of 2024.

There is no sense making a product that is not continuously improved. As I have gotten comfortable with the bookeeping side of the business, it has become a growing priority each time we close the books to replace this app. Today, we removed this app from both our Shopify websites.

The only good thing I can say about the app is that it does post sales receipts and refund receipts into QuickBooks rather than a journal entry. Many of the apps do the posting in Journal Entries. I did like that sales receipts were sales receipts and refunds were refunds.

Overall, I would not recommend the app until Bold makes the necessary improvements in reliability and accuracy.

ABSOLUTE SCAM. Was originally advertised as a free service to sync from shopify to quickbooks. Now they are charging MORE than what it costs to have quickbooks every month. Absolute scam. Avoid at all costs.

I've been holding off writing this review hoping the support team would sort the problem out but no such luck. So I have to say don't buy this app its a waste of time if you are VAT registered as it doesn't work!
Before we went VAT reg all was fine and every night the sales from Shopify would be sucked into QB and a invoice created. Once we click the 'All Taxes are included in prices' option the link was broke and we get the same error message every night 'You must select a product/service or an account for each split line with either an amount or a billable customer.'
So now I have to manually put every invoice into QB. Ball ache and time consuming.

If I could vote 0 stars.. I WOULD. For lack of a better word, this app SUCKS. It's the slowest things since dial-up and when you try to re-map or make a change with the sync, half the time it doesn't even load. I've been literally trying to switch a SKU mapping for two items. A SIMPLE AND QUICK TASK, and it has taken 3 days since the mapping won't load. And when it finally does, when you hit "edit" to change it, NOTHING HAPPENS. What a piece.

Mapping from SHOPIFY to QBO is not working. I've emailed 4 times and called more times than I can count an no one gets back with me. I'm very unhappy about this. TERRIBLE SUPPORT.

Wouldn't recommend this app until the integration of taxes works better. When it brought over the tax from Shopify to QBO it put all the tax in PST and didn't split the GST out. Made for a big mess on my PST audit this spring.

It used to be free to export Shopify orders to Quickbooks online. Then they came out with this app by BOLD, and it's now an extra fee to use an existing service we already pay for.

The worst part is the export is always filled with errors that we have to manually check and fix. Additionally, we were able to export a whole month of transactions but when BOLD took over, we were told by BOLD support that the app can only handle about 3 days worth of transactions per export. Using this paid app feels like a downgrade from the already glitchy, but free app previously.

Use to be a great apps now they charge it and even worst many order dont sync and you have to manually enter it into quickbook.

Got the basic plan at 200 order per month. And I'm only at 152 and Bold charge me extra fees for every Extra fees. Really dissapointing, hope I find a better solution to Sync with Quickbook

Awfully disappointed that we are being forced to pay for this integration. As another seller noted, we already pay Shopify and QB separately for their services. Now, without any warning Bold has taken over, and it is forcing us to pay $30 a month for merely passing on the transactions. Of course Shopify is no bystander. They can now enjoy payment for a function which should have been native to the platform. Feels like extortion.

Says you can export 30 monthly orders for free... I am reconciling for last year with exactly 30 orders and I have hit my threshold?
Ridiculous, come on guys.

What happens when I am killing it in sales 2019? I'll have to go somewhere else?
