We are having issues with duplicate barcodes constantly. This is a major issue that is time consuming to fix and costs us money to print new tags all the time after discovering duplicate barcodes. We even use the app to create all of our barcodes and it still generates duplicates on a regular basis.

When generating barcodes in the Retail Barcode Labels app you have several options to choose from; to create barcodes for all or specific products, to generate barcodes only for products without barcodes, or to replace existing barcodes with new ones. To avoid duplicates, we would advise making sure that you are definitely selecting the option to create barcodes only for products or variants that don't have barcodes yet. I have so many issues printing with this app on my DYMO 550. 1" x 1" labels won't print correctly and neither will the jewelry/price tags. So frustrating!

I completely understand that being able to print your labels correctly with your Dymo 550 label printer is super important. The 1" x 1" labels are supported for use with the app, however, they do have a maximum of 6-8 digits allowed due to their size. That information and some steps you can take to optimise printer settings for the best printing results can be found through this link: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-in-person/hardware/barcode-printer/retail-barcode-labels#supported-label-sizes. The app duplicates barcodes so when you scan you get an error. You need to fix this!

can't remove price for certain labels. My prices fluctuate, so this is not ideal.

Hi there! Thank you so much for your feedback! You should absolutely be able to remove price information from a label template, and I completely understand your need for this option. To do so, just pop into the template you will be using, untick the **Price** field on the label preview and then click **Save template**. You can then print your labels as normal with that edited template. Edited to add: yes that is what I said in my original review ->When using the app to create barcodes for items without a barcode, the system duplicates barcodes for several variants. We now have to recode and reprint. Not sure of the purpose of using a generator if we have to manually search for duplicates. It doesn’t work properly. I have had the issue with several different products.

Very difficult to print label. Way too many clicks and now latest update has made it even more difficult to print or find out how to print lables using Zebra printer.

The app doesn't sync well at all. I'll generate bar codes, select them for printing, only for them to disappear, show up as duplicates, etc. which interrupts our workflow regularly. In addition, not sure if this is the fault of this app or Shopify in general - we have a lot of barcodes that will disappear or overwrite with a new barcode seemingly randomly, making ringing up items in our onsite location extremely time-consuming. It also really affects our ability to keep track of inventory accurately.

Edit: None of the solutions offered by support (which is just AI) work, while the errors persist. Is there any way that we can send tickets to Shopify support, so that these errors can actually be worked on and fixed, instead of just blaming the user every time barcodes disappear, are overwritten, don't work, print out $0.00 etc.? Or are these issues part of the app? This is incredibly frustrating to deal with and makes Shopify borderline useless for on-site retail operations. We are looking into POSes with better support.

However, it is possible that existing ones could be overwritten if the *Replace any existing barcodes with new ones. If a product or variant doesn’t have a barcode yet, create a new barcode* setting is selected in the *Create barcodes for products* dialog box options. It would definitely be worth reaching out to our Retail support team so we can see if we can establish the root cause of these issues and prevent this from happening again.
