As others have said, the app is really lacking. The rollout was bad, as usualy for Shopify.
Admittedly many of the issues people have with the app are actually issues with what Liquid variables exist and not the app itself, but the app could have at least tried to fill in some of the gaps.
They also disabled the < javascript > and < script > tags, so we can't even use javascript to try and bridge some of the functionality gaps present in Liquid! The legacy app supported it, why not the new one?
The 64kb limit is ridiculous. What is this, the 80s?
Support says it's an SQL limitation. Nonsense. SQL has multiple different storage types for text data. Shopify has chosen to continue using the regular TEXT type which has a size limit of 64kb.
They created this new app so they could move to a new "tech stack". There was nothing stopping them from moving to use MEDIUMTEXT as the storage type for order templates. MEDIUMTEXT has a 16 megabyte size limit.
Don't say they are concerned about data storage. The absolute disaster mess that is the Image Library proves they don't care about how much they are storing. Otherwise they wouldn't duplicate all images attached to products created by CSV upload. My library over 10k duplicate images because of their nonsense.
Let us have larger templates. It is the least you can do.
Ever since the update from the Legacy version, this app has been terrible. So many bugs.
Wish they would have just kept the same app instead of ruining it with this new update. Hard to get any support and difficult to make changes. Go back to the original, please.

Ich kann bei der APP keine Packliste drucken und keine Fotos hinterlegen.
In the legacy order printer when you print as PDF and save on pc, the name of the file would contain the specific order number. In the new version the pdf file has a standard name. So when you print to pdf many orders you have to manually change the name for each order. It is just one unnecessary extra step.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! I appreciate you letting us know about this being important to your workflow, and I'm happy to share this with our developers for consideration in future updates. -Sophia, Shopify Support

At least they are giving us time to migrate, but this new app does not support any of the customizations we have implemented in the legacy app. I cannot currently figure out how to add line item images to my invoices. Documentation is very sparse and there are not many templates that are provided in the app that you can customize.
Hello! It sounds like your previous templates might include some legacy variables that will need to be updated for the new version of the app: https://shopify.link/18NL. If the changes you're making are within the scope of the Shopify Design Policy, our Theme Support team may be able to help. If not, you can post a question in the Community forums for advice from other merchants and developers: https://shopify.link/7kzD. -Sophia, Shopify Support
It's unfortunate that the Order Printer (now called 'Legacy') is being removed. The biggest value I saw in the existing Order Printer app was my ability to have more than 2 templates, for various purposes. I even used one template as a "work order" of sorts, showing exactly what needed to be produced for the order.
The new version only supports "Invoice" and "Packing Slip", which, by the way, a packing slip should never contain pricing details by default.
Please add additional template support to allow for shop owners to generate various printouts.
Hey, there! Thank you for reviewing Shopify Order Printer. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve our app and tailor it to our merchants' needs. I understand your main concern is regarding the templates. If you weren't aware, you can actually create up to 15 templates in this app. You can refer to this help doc for guidance on creating them: https://shopify.link/35gn. We don't have readily available templates other than the invoice and packing slip, however, I'll share your interest for these to our app development team.
As for the pricing on the packing slip, I'm pleased to let you know it's been removed. Reviews like yours help us make impactful changes like this one, so we appreciate your efforts in leaving comments. If you're still seeing the prices on your end, please note you can contact our support team (https://shopify.link/WJna) for assistance and they will be happy to investigate. -Summer, Shopify Support
