About SHIPPING RATES MANAGER

BEFORE YOU INSTALL:

To use this app, you need some (elementary) knowledge of programming, or at least some HTML/ CSS. This is because the interface for the app does not have a standard UI. The app's UI is a "JSON Configuration Editor". If that sounds scary, don't worry - the Editor is designed to help you by providing hints and error checking. WHAT THE APP DOES:

  1. REAL TIME RATES FOR: USPS (including Media Mail), UPS and FedEx. Uses your contractual (negotiated) rates for each carrier.

  2. FLAT RATE & FREE SHIPPING OPTIONS: For example, “Free Ground Shipping if your order is $100 or more, else Flat $8 Ground Shipping”. Or replace the Flat Rate with the cheapest possible real time rate. Also offer additional (faster) delivery options such as Next Day Air for an appropriate charge.

  3. USE PRODUCT TAGS AND PRODUCT TYPES: Allows for simple product-based shipping rates and exceptions using Tags (for more complex needs, see section B. below for our custom solution.)

  4. SYNCHRONIZED WITH SHOPIFY:* Syncs with your Shopify products in Real Time. Automatically updates itself when you add new products!

  5. FIGURES OUT THOSE PESKY “RESIDENTIAL DELIVERY SURCHARGES”:* Dynamically figures out if an address is a Residence, so that any Residential delivery surcharge is automatically included in the rates charged to your buyers.

ALSO NOTE:

You must have "FULL Carrier-Calculated Shipping" enabled, not just the standard USPS & CanadaPost rates that come free with all Shopify plans. This is what allows third party apps such as this one, to calculate rates on Shopify's checkout page. If you don't have that feature enabled in your plan, contact Shopify via chat (they are open 24x7) to enable it for $20/month, or better yet at NO CHARGE if you pay your plan for a full year.

"Something went wrong" when I pick add app. I dont know what is the problem but it would be cool :(((

This application sounds like it has great features, but it is pointless. People look for applications because they don't want to do all the coding to make it happen themselves. The lack of any sort of UI and being solely code defeats the purpose of an app. It is a free application with a guide to try to help you code out a solution.

Freaking Awesome! I got to the 11th hour after months of dev, launching our store live, only to find out that although you can integrate USPS live rates, USPS Media Mail is not supported! Insane. This app saved what would have been a Shopify deal-breaker and we would have gone with Pinnacle Cart.
