This App has been an absolute godsend for us. We're moving to Shopify Plus from SuiteCommerce Advanced and use NetSuite as our ERP. We have 94,000 customer accounts which were imported into Shopify.
When we had done website migrations in the past, we were able to simply tell the customer that they need to reset their password before logging. But Shopify isn't like that. The out of the box experience for the customer is very confusing:
- The customer will try to login and it says they have no account
- the customer might try to reset their password and it says they have no account
- the customer has to "create an account" enter in all their information to then get a message that they have an account and to check their email.
There is no way to explain this to a customer without confusing them.
With Kraken though, the experience is super clear and straightforward. When our customer arrives on our new website and goes to login, they only see the email field. After they enter their email kraken will check if they've activated their account and if they haven't it triggers the account activation email and informs them on what do it. SO SIMPLE SO EASY.
We're launching our website next month and the relief my customer support team got on seeing this in action was incredible. It's even better than "please reset your password".
We had a few small issues with getting Kraken setup in our theme, but I reached out to support. Evan got back to me very quickly and got everything looking beautiful. Thanks Evan!

If you are migrating an existing customer base, this app makes it easy to reduce friction. Normally, when migrating, you would probably send out a mass invite email to all migrated customers, which is annoying and will probably be ignored by lots of customers. When they login the next time without having read the email, they will be confused because the account seemingly does not exist. With this app, the invite email is only sent out when the customer first tries to log in again and no error messages will ever be shown, reducing friction by a lot. The support from Evan has been great! Can recommend. Edit: The ability to login after a guest checkout is even better. Great app!
