Our store has a large SKU list and very complicated variants. For a better customer experience and CRO, we found Merges AI, and it is a great find for us to solve our problem. We reached out to support to fast learn about the tools and what best to utilize its features to improve our site. Andreas is the best. He responded quickly and even got on the phone to discuss our business cases and customize the code to create new features to address our issues. This is not what you often find when purchasing an app on the Shopify Marketplace.
Andreas and Merges AI will go above and beyond to help you.

Thank you for your review. Keeping third party fulfillment links intact is one of the hardest technical problems in product merging, and it is exactly what our SKU preservation and Order Routing are built for. Good to hear it worked cleanly on your setup.

This app saved me a ton of time and was easy to use. When we integrated our old POS to Shopify, every product was set as an individual page, which would have been fine if we were only doing in store sales. Now that we've branched out online, we had to merge all of the products into collections to make the webpage cleaner and user friendly. Merges saved me days of having to go back and compile all the info myself. All you have to do is select your products you want to merge and the app does all the hard work of carrying over variants, barcodes, pricing, categories, photos, creating a description of the product and more... I highly recommend if you want to compress a bunch of products and save days in time.
Really appreciate the detailed review. Migrating from a POS setup is one of the trickier use cases, so it's great to hear Merges handled it smoothly for you.
Merges is a great utility recommended to me by a SaaS I work with. A couple of things knocked it down a 1/2 star for me.
AI
For me, the AI-generated titles have included variant details that needed to be cleaned up, and the automatic description wasn't super useful. It may be of some value to many people, but it probably won't be totally hands-off if you need high fidelity to specifications, for instance.
SUBSCRIPTION MODEL
I have limited time to use it right now, so I have a bunch of credits. Unfortunately, the only way to unsubscribe is uninstalling the app, which wipes out your credit balance (if I'm not mistaken). A free plan would be nice (so that credits could just go on pause), or else a pay-per-use model more suited to the "project-based" nature of merging (for me, at least).
WISH LIST
The ability to merge other things like collections and inventory locations would be a great addition. If the AI could suggest things to merge that'd be amazing since I have a large catalog.
OVERALL
Other than that it works great and the developer is very responsive and helpful. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would but I think for most users it'll be at least that.

Update, July 2026: the billing flexibility mentioned has shipped, in two parts. Credits now roll over up to six months of your monthly allowance, and every paid billing cycle adds its credits to your balance, even in months you don't open the app. This was applied retroactively. Separately, a free plan is now available, so stepping away no longer requires uninstalling the app. Banked credits stay available as long as a paid subscription is active.
On the AI: catalogs with technical specifications are handled with per-account Custom Instructions that preserve exact wording. An further update to see before/after comparison will be shipped in the next update.
Autodetect for catalog-wide merge suggestions remains in active development.

Merges took the hard work and guessing out of cleaning up our small business catalog.
