Count stock with any phone: scan barcodes, review differences, apply adjustments in one click.
Counting inventory usually means walking the shelves with a printout, then typing corrections into Shopify one variant at a time, hoping nobody sold anything in between. MT: Stock Count & Scan turns any phone into a counting device: open a count for a location, scan barcodes with the phone camera or type a SKU, and let several people count the same session at once. When you are done, the app shows exactly which variants are over, under or not counted, compared with the quantities Shopify had when you started, and applies the adjustments in one click with the reason "Cycle count". Nothing is written to Shopify until you press Apply. A count starts from one location and a scope: everything, or one collection, vendor, tag, product type or saved zone (aisle A, shelf 3). Expected quantities are frozen when the count starts; if stock changes in Shopify during the count, that variant is flagged and excluded until you recount it. To scan, click "Scan with a phone", point the phone at the QR code and a full-screen scanner opens in the phone browser: no login, no app to install, barcodes decoded on the device and nothing uploaded. USB or Bluetooth scanners and manual entry work too. Each scan is logged with its device name and can be undone, and scans are kept on the phone when the Wi-Fi drops in the stockroom, then sent when the network is back. Two modes cover the daily routine: count stock, where what you scan replaces the quantity, and add to stock, where what you scan is added, for deliveries and returns. The review page lists discrepancies, variants not counted and unknown barcodes so you can fix your product data, and lets you choose what happens to variants you never scanned: leave them unchanged for a partial count, or set them to zero for a full inventory. Adjustments are sent in batches and recorded in the app's write log, and every count produces a printable report and a CSV for your records. The Shrinkage page shows which products keep coming up short, count after count, with their value at cost, and lets you record losses by hand. Works with any theme, since nothing is added to your storefront, and does not require POS Pro. Camera scanning needs a recent Chrome or Safari on a phone; manual entry works everywhere. Permissions: read products, inventory and locations; write inventory only when you apply a count.
