Bat Preorder has been amazing!
I had a few questions during setup, and Vinay was incredibly responsive — answered everything quickly and helped me get it up and running in no time.
The support was top-notch, and I really appreciate that it’s a free app. Don’t walk… run to install! Highly recommend!
First off, I'm very thankful to have found an app like this in the Shopify App store; Basically, it looks scammy to collect money and then there's no record of anything getting shipped out. But because I'm a print-on-demand and drop-shipping vendor, inherently the process is longer.
I looked into pre-order apps that would a) allow me to collect revenue to finance my inventory as sales came in and b) establish the expectation that the turnaround on delivery won't be super fast.
I had already heard horror stories of sellers who had been getting chargebacks for non-delivery when an item takes longer than expected to arrive and how that negatively impacted their business. Some people reported having funds held for MONTHS while things get straightened out. I'm actually not interested in paying chargeback fees on top of losing sales that had already closed So anyway, I found Bat Preorder. Unlike other preorder apps, they don't t, nor do I want my reputation in the toilet right out the door.
I picked Bat Preorder specifically because they have really strong reviews, and unlike many vendors in their space, they don't throttle your sales after just a handful of transactions. You actually get to see how things play out before you upgrade.
The support has been fantastic, especially compared to another soon-to-be ex-vendor, I'm about to usher out the door. After you download the app and before you get set up, I had someone from the org proactively reaching out to offer help in case I needed it. The team has been responsive, open to feedback, and when I needed extra help to get things just right, they made it work even as I'm over here working crazy hours to get my store ready for launch.
It's been a very white-glove experience. It's been so incredibly valuable to work with partners who are doing what they can to make your life easier, especially when you have multiple balls in the air. It's still early on, but so far, so good. I'm excited about the future!
The app is pretty easy to figure out. It works better with some themes than others but the tech support is fantastic and they were able to help me shake out the few small issues with my theme selection. Sam and Vinay were super helpful getting my preorder setup dialed in!
This app has plenty of options and integrates easily into my theme (Crave). The developers are responsive to feedback and questions and helpful, showing initiative to improve and iterate on the app.
For basic pre-order/stock notifications Bat is ideal, easy to install & use, same basic functions as paid apps without the restrictions of "free trial" accounts.
Support for set-up and trouble shooting is excellent, quick to respond with concise answers/instructions as well as follow up emails to confirm issues are resolved.
Great app, not too difficult to set up, a bit of trial and error with what each setting changed until I found the ones that works best for us... and it works exactly how I wanted it to. Perfect. :-)
It has lots of options for the what products are affected and how you display your pre-order status (we are using it for products that we don't stock but are in stock with the supplier and we will order it in for you). So technically not a pre-order but a special-order
We couldn't get the pre-order ribbon on the image to work but there was a note in the instructions about some themes can affect the ribbon and to contact them. I messaged through the app's message service and Sam replied within a few hours (we are in a different country time zone) and fix it for me with no hassle at all.
Sam was super helpful and great customer service all round

I am very satisfied with the app support. They responded to my problem fast, kindly and delivered the request even though we had time difference.
I was unfortunately unable to install the app. Clicking the "Next" button on the very first installation step did nothing, and I never got a response to my email to the developers. The other reviews mention great customer service, but that's not my experience.
Love this App, they are super helpful, and their customer service is impeccable. The setup process was done in minutes. Will continue to use this App! Highly recommend!!
