With Required, you can easily add custom fields to the cart page, and optionally make them required. Customers won't be able to visit the checkout unless they fill out the information you need. You can also add non-required fields.
All this extra information will be available to you in the Order details page.
In most cases, you do NOT need to change any HTML code.
When a change in the HTML is needed, adding a single line of code will do. The step-by-step is explained within the app, and you can contact us if you need help.
The short answer is no. The checkout pages are mostly closed off to alterations in their code, for compliance and security reasons, to protect merchants and shoppers. Shopify Plus customers have access to the checkout template, but the possible changes are still limited.
Required sets up fields in the cart page in a way that saves this extra information alongside the order, making this data easily accessible from within the orders' dashboard, order printer templates, email templates, and apps that deal with order data.
