My Honest Experience with Matterhorn Wholesale
I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience in case it helps others facing similar issues.
At first, I believed Matterhorn Wholesale to be a reliable and high-quality clothing supplier. My first order went smoothly and was delivered correctly, which gave me confidence in the company. Unfortunately, my second order was a completely different experience and ultimately led me to shut down my Shopify store.
Here’s what happened:
A customer placed an order for several items. I received payment and then, to my surprise, Matterhorn informed me afterward that some of the items listed as in stock were actually out of stock. It took them over a week just to confirm that the remaining items had shipped to the UK. Delivery to the customer took even longer — delays which might have been acceptable had everything else gone right.
But things got worse.
When the customer finally received the package, one of the items was incorrect. Instead of what was ordered, they received a completely different product. This forced me to begin a return and exchange process. But things got even worse — the wholesaler then informed me that the original item the customer had selected was out of stock, making it impossible to exchange the incorrect item for the right one.
And this is where I faced the most frustration: customer support. Initially, someone from Matterhorn responded to me, but then there were long gaps — days with no replies. I only ever heard from one person, and they seemed overwhelmed or unsure. Meanwhile, my customer was understandably frustrated and asked multiple times how to return the item quickly.
Resolving this issue took more than a week and completely disrupted my business. I had to pause all my Shopify work just to deal with this situation and make sure the customer’s problem was solved. The customer’s trust was on the line — and unfortunately, so was mine.
To summarize:
• Products listed as "in stock" were actually unavailable.
• Shipping was slow and uncommunicated.
• The customer received the wrong item.
• The return/refund process was slow and unclear.
• Customer support was inconsistent and unresponsive.
This entire experience destroyed the trust I initially had in Matterhorn Wholesale. For over a month, I had imported over 1,000 items from Matterhorn Wholesale into my Shopify store with great confidence, believing they were a reliable partner.
I don’t know whether this review will make an impact on them — but I sincerely hope they use it to improve.
This was my real experience, and others should be aware before they decide to work with this supplier.
I regret to say that my experience with this supplier has been extremely disappointing.
At first, I believed they were reliable and even invested weeks of work uploading over 1,000 of their products to my store, carefully creating titles and descriptions. I trusted them more than my previous suppliers. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced.
Due to issues with one of my customer’s orders, my online store was forced to close for almost two months — and the problem has still not been resolved. I tried to be patient, even after speaking directly with their CEO, who promised improvements. Months later, nothing has changed. My repeated messages went unanswered, and the lack of accountability has been very unprofessional.

The customer sent the package to MATTERHORN Wholesale, but they refused to accept it and the parcel was returned back to the customer. From the very day my customer shipped the package, I informed MATTERHORN that it was on its way and would be received by them. Despite this, they rejected it.
In the end, I had to refund my customer in full at my own expense. To this day, MATTERHORN has not responded or taken any responsibility for this matter.
MATTERHORN — we are not in the business of deceiving people, even if you can act that way. I have remained patient for months, and I truly respect my customer for also being patient with me until the very end.
I initially avoided leaving a bad review because I hoped things could be worked out, but after so much wasted time, money, and effort, I feel obligated to warn others. Many other sellers seem to have experienced similar problems, which unfortunately confirms my experience.
This company needs to take responsibility, improve its service, and treat its partners with respect. Until then, I cannot recommend them as a wholesale supplier.
