We had been looking for a way to turn one time buyers into regulars and paid memberships ended up being the answer. What surprised us most was the checkout opt in. Close to 40 percent of new customers join the program right there at the point of sale, without any heavy convincing. Those members behave completely differently from the rest of our base, they come back more often and their basket is bigger. Setup took an afternoon and we did not need a developer. Honestly our only regret is not launching it a year earlier.
