About Round Up for Charity
Round Up for Charity
Empower your customers to round up their checkout total and donate a few cents to a charity you choose!
Round Up for Charity is the landmark social good initiative used by Shopify merchants worldwide. This program adds a small checkbox above the “checkout” button on your store’s shopping cart page to allow your customers to round up their subtotal and direct that amount to charity.
Customers love the opportunity to be able to support non-profits in an easy and unintrusive way. We have seen about 95% of customers choose to participate!
Once you install the program everything automatically runs in the background. Donations are collected each week or month depending on your transaction volume. You can track how many donations are collected any time directly from the Round Up app in your Shopify administrator panel.
How Round Up Works
Seamlessly integrate this program and let it run in the background. You never have to worry about installation or maintenance.
Once you install the app customers will be given the option to donate an additional few cents to the charity that the Shopify store owner selects. These donations will automatically be debited from your account. We will also provide an annual summary of all donations that you can provide to your accountant which will satisfy all IRS requirements.
Each month, the Vesey Foundation will aggregate all the donations received and forward them to the partner charities that you have selected.

Round Up still publicizes that this is a free app, but they made a change and decided to charge accounts with small numbers of orders WITHOUT saying anything beforehand. That is unethical.

They charged me every month directly from the bankcard, even when I uninstalled the app. BUT, I contacted them through email and they helped us solve the problem quickly, and refunded us. The app is good and easy to use, but only when there's no addtional costs. I can see why it's helpful for bigger stores.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
I've tried installing the app 3 times now. I cannot get past the step clicking the charity. No matter which charity I pick I get an unknown error. When I try to contact support I get an error code saying I might be doing something sneaky??? I can't even get tot he part where they overcharge you every month like the other reviews.
I finally went to their website to contact support. I got an email they are "busy." That was in October. I've tried contacting again to no avail.
Worst customer support. Ever.
