We've been using Upnova for Human Improvement for over 2 years and it is fantastic. There is a ton of flexibility in the functionality, the UX is great for customers, and the team is very responsible and helpful setting different offers or functions up if you lack technical expertise!

Unbelievable product, great UI/UX and all in all great at doing exactly as the ads say. It's been a great way for us to be able to add incremental revenue and improve our AOV. Tommi has been a legend in helping us set things up too.

Excellent app that really drives the AOV. Normally, we have a 20% discount for signing up for our newsletters, which normally have 20% off. However, with upnova, we are able to increase our AOV by offering discounts on pieces sold (ie 2+ pcs = 10%, 4+ piecesn = 15%, 6+ pieces = 20% etc). So someone new coming to our site has the option. We have been very pleased with the increase units and AOV. Plus, Tomi is awesome and easy to work with. This is a great app that will add value almost immediately.

A very expensive mistake! We give a free gift with purchase. Upnova then marks ALL of our sales as upsell revenue because of this and charges for it. Cost approximately 2.5% of our revenue this month, which incidentally is down 33% on this time last year. Not happy.

Hi, it seems like you've set up a free gift with purchase offer with a very low threshold. Typically stores use Upnova's free gift offer to set over a threshold higher than AOV to incentivize shoppers to buy more rather than giving away free gift for majority of orders. For this reason, you could contact our support within the app, or support@upnova.io to request for a full refund of all charges related to your free gift offer.

I’ve been using UpNova for about 2 months now and I only have great things to say about the app. It’s completely upgraded our cart drawer experience and made it so easy to set up upsells, cross-sells and gift-with-purchase offers.

The widgets look clean, work smoothly, and don’t slow down our store. We’ve already seen an increase in average order value, and customers are clearly engaging with the offers we’re showing in the cart.

The app is easy to use, the settings are flexible, and the support team has been super responsive whenever we’ve had questions. Overall, UpNova has become an essential part of our upsell strategy and I highly recommend it.

Beware — Billing Without Delivery & Concerning Unethical Business Practices

We selected Upnova after being assured multiple times that billing would only begin once the app was properly set up and live on our store. That never happened.

The app was never active, never processed a single order with proper set-up, and remained incomplete — yet we were charged USD$500 per month for 3 months (over $1,500 total) for no delivered value.

When we raised this, the company — including CEO Son Chu — defended the charges. In our experience, the approach felt deceptive and lacking in basic business ethics. Instead of owning the issue or fixing the setup, they insisted on billing for a product that was never usable.

If you run an ethical and honest business, and care about transparency and integrity matter to your business, we strongly recommend thinking twice before installing Upnova. There are many Shopify apps that deliver real value — not invoices for unfinished promises and running an unethical practice.

We delivered a custom setup exactly as requested, communicating with you multiple times throughout the process — including reminders about your trial and cancellation policy. Despite our repeated outreach, you did not respond during or after the customization period.

After several weeks of dedicated work from our team, you were unresponsive for over a month and later requested a full refund without providing any reason or feedback regarding the setup you had approved.

Our money-back guarantee and service terms were clearly communicated in our meetings and through email correspondence.

Your statement that “billing would only begin once the app was properly set up and live on our store” is inaccurate. At no point in our recorded meetings or written communication did we make such a commitment. All agreements and expectations were transparent from the start.
