Appstle℠ Bundles App & Upsells

TL, DR: I loved Appstle's customer service, they went above and beyond. Appstle Bundles & Upsells offers several options, very customizable. I hit limits with Shopify's rules & a big snag on Appstle's Combo Deal when trying to offer a selection of add-on options since my products aren't in a single list format. I give the app 7/10 for being very useful, but alittle confusing, and their customer service an easy 10/10. Shopify gets rated significantly lower in general for the ridiculous limits.

We'll also be choosing Appstle's other apps for future needs.

There's a lot of options with this app and I highly recommend it for the price, features, and service. Very much worth it if you're looking to upsell products or create add-ons. It was honestly difficult getting started - my expectations for what I could do with this app were a little different than what was offered & there's a lot of options + settings to go through / figure out what goes where.

My only complaint with the app specifically is that the Combo Bundle option was not as customizable as I wanted it to be.

You can only add one specific product to the combo deal - if the item you choose for the deal is not available in a list with other options at the same price.

For instance, we sell different types of herbs in various package sizes. Each herb has it's own product page, with a dropdown list of available package sizes. Each size is obviously a different price.

I don't want them getting different package sizes for the same discounted add-on price, so I'm limited to one herb and one package size to offer for that add-on because they aren't all in a dropdown menu in the same size:

* Like our samples are, for example. I have a sample page & since the herbal samples are all the same size/price, they're all on one page, in one single dropdown menu. This worked great for creating a Combo Bundle "add-on" for a 5-pack of samples. I was really happy with that, worked perfectly. But not so much for the regular package sizes for each individual herb.

Some Shopify Limitations To Be Aware Of:

- Shopify also has a 25 automatic discount limit, and those count as automatic discounts - which I was trying to add to 30+ different products and found out on product number 24, as we were having a sale that day.

- For other Bundle Deals, you're limited to 100 variations. You would think this means 100 different products, but it actually means all of your products put together in under 100 ways. If you have 3 choices for one bundle, you can only have a few products available for choices as each possible combo counts as a variation.

- For A Fixed Price Bundle, I also had to create a new product page for it before I could finish the bundle.

This was NOT a problem on my previous website, and NOT Appstle's fault - I just want reviewers to know these things ahead of time so they're not hours into testing & creating only to find out you're much more limited than expected.

Back to the Combo Deal Add-on For My Herbs...

My solution: I decided instead to save room for more bundles and such. I would just select one herb in the small package size for the $10 add-on, and then also & keep the deals per category, not per product. I'll just have to switch out the offered item(s) from time-to-time, but I wish it didn't have to be that difficult.

My suggestion is to add a new ability in the future: a custom "type-it-yourself" deal. Let the customer create a customer dropdown menu, type in the prices, etc. & not be connected to products already listed in Shopify.

On my last website (not Shopify), I used a different company for our add-on products. I was able to do just that - simply create a checkbox with a dropdown menu next to it, listing each add-on product option, and set the pricing for each option. That way the customer could check the box if they wanted an add-on, choose which herb & size at the prices I set, despite each herb having different product pages and prices per size. If the box was selected, the option showed up in checkout and on orders.

But in any case, I've been playing around & creating new / different types of bundles & sales & I'm starting to get the hang of it.

They also removed the watermark for free, without me even asking for it.

The app is really good, it allows even for the most complex offers. I can only recommend it!

So far, pretty overwhelming with how many features and settings there are, but seems to be working the way we want with some tweaks. And support is phenomenal, going as far as creating a Loom video just for us to solve the problem we were having! Pretty awesome.

Alan did a fantastic job helping us set up our bundles. We faced several challenges during the setup, but he patiently handled every issue and made sure everything was working perfectly. He even customized the UI according to our requirements, which was truly appreciated.

The app itself is one of the best bundle apps you can ask for. It has almost every feature needed to create attractive offers, increase sales, and improve AOV. The support and customization options are excellent.

Highly recommended to anyone looking for a powerful and flexible bundle app!

The bundles and discounts continued even after they were turned off. Support said the discount also has to be deactivated, but clicking into the discount just takes you back to the app. Even in deactivated status, the discount was still hitting customer orders. This seems like a glitch/bug but they won't admit it because it cost us money.

Really impressed with the support from Appstle. I needed some help getting the Mix & Match widget to fit properly with the look of my store, and Stefan went above and beyond to get it sorted. He understood what I was trying to achieve, made the changes for me and even thought ahead to make sure the styling would carry across future widgets. Really helpful, patient and genuinely great support. Thanks again Stefan!

Five stars, and I don't give those easily.

I came to Appstle after a long day of hitting walls elsewhere. I sell one product, and I needed something that sounds simple but isn't: two subscription options side by side on the same product page, one pouch monthly and three pouches quarterly, with the three-pack pulling correctly from the same inventory. Anyone who has tried this on Shopify knows it is not a one-click problem.

Alden answered every question directly, including the ones where the honest answer was "that's a separate app." He told me I could downgrade my plan and save money before I ever paid a cent. That is not something you forget.

He offered to build the entire setup himself, respected every boundary I set around my published theme, and sent me a screenshot of the working cart so I could see the three units deducting correctly before I even asked to verify it.

I am a first-time founder building alone, and I asked him to explain things so I could learn, not just receive. He did.

The apps are excellent. The support is the reason I'll stay.

super helpful app to manage our "build a box" custom subscription box. It's very affordable and overall easy for us to use. There are a few more features I wish it had in cancellation management, specifically, but the price is hard to beat. I recommend this to every subscription website I know!

Appstle not only had all the options and variations I needed, but they gave me ideas on new ways to serve my customers better!
The configuration and integration is very easy and user friendly, and they definitely thought deeply about each and every feature in their app.
