Athos: Unified Discovery

Private Equity wrecks companies, this is proof. SearchSpring Was great until they got gobbled up under Athos. They are the most expensive search product on the market but won't help tune the search with us with best practices, super frustrating.

The ticket response times are rocky at best and I can't consistently count on them for support these days. They also don't answer the phone at all. I just called them on Friday 8:15AM their time and immediately went to VM.
My crappy $100/mo app vendors and India guys respond much faster because they are hungry and not private equity corporations. They are actively pushing my clients away from the product.

We've been using Searchspring for about 2 years, and love the application. It works seamlessly with Shopify, allows for easy configuration, and has a full suite of features that help us monetize our site search.

A couple of years ago we were on a quest to significantly improve the conversion rate on our websites. We researched several options in this space and found Searchspring to be the best option. The technology was easy to implement, the integration team at Searchspring was professional and the service I've received since has been great. Most importantly Searchspring helped us boost our conversion rate above our targets. Very happy with this technology.

After an initial good start with Searchspring, I cannot recommend them at all. I recently waited over 6 weeks for a response to a helpdesk ticket that was never resolved and then was told that going forward, it shouldn't take more than 3 weeks to get a first response for help.

For 2K a month, I would expect to be able to to send 2-3 tickets to a helpdesk a year and get a timely response.

I was told that Q3 and Q4 are their busiest months, and so there is a delay in responding to customers. That ends up be 6 months of year, where we can't get any support.

As they lock you into a 12 month automatically recurring contact, you are stuck with them and they have no incentive to improve the service.

I would avoid Searchspring.
