Shopify tracks how many units you have, not which production run they came from. There is no native field for a lot number or an expiry date. Lotwise adds both. It records the lot behind every order automatically, allocates stock first-expired-first-out, flags lots approaching expiry on a threshold you set, and exports the affected orders and customer emails when a lot is recalled.
