Shopify already stores a cost per item on every variant. MarginKeeper reads it, works out the margin you are really making, and tells you when something slips under the floor you set. A margin rule says what healthy looks like: the floor you never sell below, and the target to fix towards. Rules can cover the whole catalogue, or one collection, vendor, type or tag. Every suggested price waits in a review queue showing the margin before and after. Nothing is written until you approve it.
