We implemented this app to apply a small-order surcharge, helping to encourage customers to place orders above a minimum quantity. The setup required a specific fee to be added automatically to the cart, and the support team was excellent. They responded promptly and had everything configured and working correctly on the same day. We're very pleased with both the functionality of the app and the quality of customer support.

Your small-order surcharge was a great example of why we built VOL to be flexible. You had a very specific goal—not simply adding another charge, but using the fee logic to encourage customers toward the right minimum order quantity for your business.

We installed VOL Extra Fees because we needed to automatically apply a 50% tariff fee specifically to our USA customers.
From the beginning, Vugar was extremely transparent about what was and wasn’t technically possible. He explained how location detection works on our Shopify plan, including the limitations and edge cases, rather than simply promising that everything would work perfectly in every situation. I really appreciated that honesty.
What impressed me most was how personally involved he was in the setup. Vugar didn’t just tell us which settings to change—he configured everything for us and created a safe test setup first so the fee would only appear for our test customer account. This allowed us to confirm that everything was working before exposing the fee to our actual USA customers.
Once we were ready to go live, he coordinated the activation with us in real time because we were also updating our USA pricing at the same time. He then tested the live setup himself using a US VPN and sent us screenshots so we could verify exactly what our American customers would see. The 50% tariff fee was applied and calculated correctly.
The support throughout the entire process was exceptional—responsive, patient, knowledgeable, and also genuinely fun to work with. Vugar was even available over the weekend to coordinate the launch with us.
If you have a complicated fee, tariff, or location-based surcharge requirement and want someone who will actually take the time to understand your business and help you test everything properly, I would absolutely recommend VOL Apps and Vugar.

The best part for me was doing the rollout together: isolated testing first, coordinating the live activation, checking the actual customer experience, and only then being able to say, “Yes, it’s working.” That’s the standard I want VOL support to have.

Adding a fee is one thing. Knowing that the flexibility to create specific fee rules is actually helping your business operate and scale is much more meaningful to us.
And yes… the “no matter what time I message” part might reveal that my relationship with sleep could use some improvement 😂 But seriously, when something affects a merchant’s live store, I don’t like leaving them waiting unnecessarily, lol, just can't sleep.
