We integrated GA4 using the Wixpa GTM app and initially, everything seemed to be working correctly. However, after a few days, we discovered that critical e-commerce events — such as purchases, add_to_cart, and begin_checkout — were either missing or being recorded inaccurately.
This significantly disrupted both our GA4 data and Google Ads conversion tracking. As a result, within just one week, we experienced a noticeable and substantial decline in sales.
Additionally, we found that other key events like remove_from_cart, add_payment_info, add_shipping_info, and view_cart were not firing at all. These are essential for accurate conversion tracking and campaign optimization.
Unfortunately, based on our experience, this app caused serious damage to our data and sales performance. We cannot recommend it.
As discussed over email, your store has a lot of custom work, which makes it difficult for our app to track third-party code within your theme. Your Shopify theme needs to follow Shopify's standard coding guidelines for us to guarantee accurate event tracking through our app.
