We installed this app after receiving a significant amount of spam from Shopify checkout. It has been a lifesaver and effectively stopped all issues with abandoned cart spam.
We have used the app for six months now. Once it is set up, you can trust it to handle the bots so you can focus on your business. I highly recommend it!
